The Edith Stein Teacher Training College is located 15 minutes walking from Hengelo station in quiet surroundings. It trains over 1000 students to become primary school teachers. The college collaborates with other educational institutions like the University of Twente to maintain high teaching standards. The Edith Stein Teacher
Training College trains its
1000 students to become
teachers for primary
education and at the same
time creative and competent
professionals. Through its
interdenominational
character the focus lies on
the encounter of different
denominations, an exchange
of ideas and learning from
each other.

Edith Stein Teacher Training
College collaborates with

Expertis school advisors and
the University of Twente. It is
also part of various flexible
knowledge networks.

college, and students have
the opportunity to qualify in
specific types of education
like Montessori, Dalton or
Freinet.

In the so-called study
landscape, a multi-media
study centre, modern views
on active learning find
optimal expression. There are
facilities to work and study,
to discuss and to prepare a
school practical. These
facilities include abundant
use of ICT.

schools that practice reform
pedagogy, such a Montessori,

agreements between the
Edith Stein Teacher Training
College and similar colleges
in other countries offer the
students the opportunity to
gain teaching experience in a
variety of other countries,
and vice versa the college
