• 47 days Op PROJECTION – Members now qualify for
the Special Service Medal (SSM) - Expeditionary
• 29 Days Op NEON
• Port Visits in:
– Dutch Harbor (USA)
– Maizuru (Japan)
– Pyeongtaek/Incheon (ROK)
– Laem Chabang (Thailand)
– Busan (ROK)
– Sasebo (Japan)
– Yokosuka (Japan)

42. Fun Facts about the Sail
• Ottawa has burned over 1.9 million liters of fuel
– That enough to fuel the car of all 230 sailors for 4 years!
– The last time Ottawa fueled, we were able to pump at 10,000L per minute. It would
take on average .3 of a second to fill the gas tank on most cars
• Ottawa has successfully evaded 2 regular Typhoons and 1 Super Typhoon
• Ottawa has sailed 16,500 nautical miles or 30,560km
– That’s enough to do to drive to Newfoundland and back TWICE!
• The Padre has given out almost 150 bags of hard candies
• During our last storing, Ottawa embarked 21,000 eggs!
• The healthy and hungry sailors on Ottawa have consumed:
– 1 Metric Tonne of Bacon (2,200 Lbs)
– 4,800 L of milk

• Is it possible to set up an acquittance roll to pay for Brown’s the Florist flowers?
– Rectified: the AR process is now available
• Is it possible to increase the number of “Sailors at Sea” Facebook pictures?
– Although Ottawa has been limited to 3 posts per week due to vetting by HHQ, we have increased
the number of photos per post. Post election we will re-assess what the new policy is on Social
Media posts
• Lack of access to make phone calls home in privacy
– Departments have been informed that if privacy is required for a phone call, there are phones in a
few offices that are available
• Can the Padre facilitate conversations between sailors and their family back home?
– Padre Klinger has indicated that he is able and willing
• Will Ottawa be having a Ship’s Christmas Party?
– Ship’s Fund has voted in $2,000 for a Children’s Christmas part at the Flying Squirrel on 8 Dec to
include food, drinks, and Santa. Tracey Barlow has offered to coordinate; I’m sure she’ll gladly
accept volunteers to help
