Unity & Identity
Celebrating ANZAC day should be a time to remember the men that fell
for us but instead we have turned it into a celebration.
Australia became an independent nation in 1901, 13 years later World
War 1 was declared. Australians from different states and the Aboriginal
community fought together, this helped us find unity as a nation.
ANZAC day is significant to us because it gave us an identity. ANZAC
day is not a day that tells us who we are but a day that represents the
fallen soldiers and what they did for Australia.

Why we believe that ANZAC day
is significant 100 years on
We believe that ANZAC day is significant 100 years
on because it represents the fallen soldiers in World
War 1. 20 years ago ANZAC day was a small but
beautiful ceremony but now it has gone a bit too far.
Everyday people relate their lives with the soldiers in
World War 1 when in reality they don’t understand
what it was like.
