DL 2 hydroxy 4(methylthio)butanoic acid (DL HMTBA) exhibits a higher antioxidant capability in
vitro as compared to DL methionine, but the mechanism is not known. A total of 400 8 d old
broilers were allotted to a 2 [Low (14 16в„ѓ) or control temperature] Г— 2 (0.17% or 0.51% DL
HMTBA) factorial arrangement to investigate effects of DL HMTBA on the gene expression
related to oxidative stress in low temperature. The hepatic glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase
(SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH Px) activities were decreased, while protein carbonyl and
malodndialdehyde content in lung were increased in low temperature (P10 fold decrease in CОІS
protein levels. Therefore, it indicated that DL HMTBA supplementation may increase MAT 1A and
CОІS gene expression, to enhance Met trans sulfuration to GSH, then to increase antioxidant

The clarity and effectiveness of purpose and the use of time was very well used in this meeting.
The purpose of this meeting was very clear to both this writer and seemed to be to all group
members. Group members respected that the purpose was to have meetings that were effective

task and did not allow much time for the group members to get off topic. The group discussions

The two major ethical theories that have the most relevance and prudence to my contemporary
views are utilitarianism and those aligned with the concept of a categorical imperative. The
philosophy of the former of these was widely pioneered by both Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart
Mill. The notion of a categorical imperative was largely popularized by Immanuel Kant. In all
actuality, the efficaciousness of these philosophies is widely determined by the particular moral
dilemma which one is facing. Still, the true value in both of these theories lies in the fact that they
can be applied to a wide variety of situations and help to dictate moral guidance. In many respects,
utilitarianism, which is a branch of philosophy known as consequentialism, presents a diametrically
opposed philosophical stance of that propounded by Kant and his categorical imperative (Boylan,
2009, p. 176). There is an extreme sense of mutability that accompanies the former of these
approaches to ethics, which is attributed to the fact that the behavior that is determined most ethical

We wanted to know how the television show Duck Dynasty became such a big part of popular
culture especially in the field of merchandising. We looked through web articles about how the
Robertson s family created an empire, what visual merchandising is and its effects on Duck
Dynasty merchandising, the politics they have encountered so far, and the stereotypes they have
revised and created. We found that visual merchandising is one of the reasons the Robertson is so
successful, and that politics don t faze them; for they follow the Lord in all things. We also found
that the stereotype of the country boy has turned to redneck and that beards is no longer just a
symbol of masculinity but one of success thanks to the Robertson family and ZZ Top. Based on the
findings we are able to say that none of these stereotypes are changing any time soon, or that the
Duck Dynasty television show and its merchandising are going to stop making huge profits for a
very long time in the future.
