of its own.” One does not take a road trip without stopping at a Highway Restaurant’’.
Anyone on a journey, be it an adventurous one or an arduous one, needs a break to refresh and relax
H O T E L 7 fulfills the primary goals of a highway restaurant being high quality refreshment, hygiene
food.
CONTEXT
The immediate surroundings of this site are just open fields. Other landmarks close by are Petrol
Bunk, a Government General Hospital, a few small scale restaurants, temples, churches. The nearby
restaurants are of small scale and not nearly as popular with people as Hotel 7.
The restaurant has a many openings and large windows, glass facades to allow natural ventilation
like sunlight and wind to flow unobstructed. Since the surroundings are also unobstructed, these
openings provide great views and cross ventilation.

There is a provision of a Play Area for the children which is accessible easily from outside and also the

● OLD PEOPLE:-
There a lot of open spaces with greenery and seating facility for them enjoy the open air and relax. The
restaurant also has a drop off point so that the distance they have to walk to reach the restaurant is
less.
● PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED:-
The restaurant is a barrier free design making it convenient and accessible for physically challenged
people with the provision of ramps at the main entrance and washrooms. Relatively flat surfaces
throughout the building.

● Metal Corrugated Sheets
They are a cost effective option and temporary in nature, they
can be easily removed or replaced. They are easy to install and
cheap in cost. They are lightweight and don’t need to be
heavily supported.
● Canvas Roofing
It is a semi-opaque material that is lightweight, allows air and
light ventilation. It’s one of the most flexible building materials
which allows complex forms and shapes. This is also a
temporary in nature and can be easily removed, replaced or
transported. Since, it is lightweight in nature it does not have
to be heavily supported.
