High Intensity Interval Training
1. Advantages of HIIT
2. Disadvantages of HIIT
3. What if it’s too hard?
Advantages of HIIT1
Advantages of HIIT
•It saves time.
•Because HIIT is an anaerobic activity like weight lifting, it will actually help you
preserve muscle mass.
•You boost HGH levels, which help you burn fat and preserve muscle.
•It mimics real life situations where you actually perform short intense bursts of
activity.
Disadvantages of HIIT2
Disadvantages of HIIT
•It’s hard. If you’re going to do HIIT, then you can’t half-ass it. If you’re told sprint for
30 seconds, then you better perform your best attempt at an all out sprint for 30
seconds.
•HIIT can impair recovery. This is not a workout that you can do every day.
•HIIT does not go well with a super low calorie diet.
What if it’s too hard?3
The most common misconception that deters people from trying HIIT is the
notion that it is only for certain people. It is too hard.
While HIIT is certainly challenging, the important thing is the amount of effort you
put in, and you can easily tweak the variables in HIIT to suit your fitness level. In
other words, the high-intensity component of HIIT is relative to each individual.
Due to the relative nature of HIIT, we believe it can be performed by (almost)
everyone.
However, we are certainly not saying that everyone should do it; nor is HIIT
necessarily the best thing since sliced bread. The best form of exercise is the one
that you will actually do, and do safely.
THANK YOU!
