This document provides instructions for making a hidden camera detector using simple household items. It works by shining a flashlight through a tube constructed from a toilet paper roll and cut pieces of red vinyl. Any hidden camera lenses in the area will reflect the light and appear as bright red flares when looking through the detector. Surveillance cameras have grown greatly in recent years, with estimates of over 25 million CCTV cameras worldwide installed in many public spaces. A homemade detector can help locate any hidden cameras but may not be foolproof.
