Paul writes to the church in Colossae to encourage them. He prays that they may have spiritual wisdom and understanding so they can know Christ and walk in a way that pleases God. Paul describes Christ as the creator of all things, the head of the church, and the one through whom God reconciles all things through his sacrifice on the cross. He urges the church to gain knowledge of God through devoted study and experience of their faith.
