Introduction
Latex Foley Balloon Catheter is a product that is
used for short term urine drainage and faces a
common problem of Blockage and Failure
caused due to Salt Encrustation.
Every time the catheter needs to be replaced due
to blockage and failure, it increases the cost of
consumables and discomfort to the patient is
significant.

• Sterimed Hi Flow Catheter with a unique 4
Layer System has been developed to address
these problems
• The Catheter’s inner
most layer is made
of Non – Adherent
Silicon Elastomer.
This Non – Adherent Silicon Elastomer deters
salt crystals from attaching themselves to the
catheters inner surface.
Layer 2
2nd Layer is made of
High Strength Polymer
which provides strength
to the catheter wall while
allowing a larger lumen
size.
This larger lumen size
minimizes blockages
caused by encrustation
resulting in higher flow
rate through the Catheter
The Third Layer is made from Special
Low Protein Latex with suitable anti-
oxidants and it forms the main body of the
Catheter providing it softness and
keeping it low in Allergens.
Layer 4
The outermost layer of silicon Elastomer
minimises the occurrence of Allergy and
irritation when the Catheter comes in
contact with the patient.
It therefore acts as a protective layer for the patient and also
increases the Catheter’s life
