The Heatfast HF1210 is a self-regulating heating cable used for frost protection of exposed pipes. It has parallel bus wires and a conductive core that allows it to be cut to length on site. As the core temperature increases, the number of conductive paths decreases, adjusting the cable's heat output. Tested to IEEE standards, it is designed to last over 40 years when used below 65°C.

Product Overview
T&D’s Heatfast HF1210 is a self-regulating trace heating cable ideal for frost protection to pipework
exposed to low ambient temperatures.
Parallel bus wires apply voltage along the entire length of the heater cable. The conductive core
provides an infinite number of parallel conductive paths allowing the cable to be cut to length on
site.
The self-regulating ability of the Heatfast HF1210 cable is derived from the properties of the
conductive core material. As the core temperature increases the number of conductive paths in the
core decreases – decreasing the heat output.
This occurs at every point along the length of the cable, adjusting power output to the varying
conditions along the pipe and ensures that the cable is only producing heat if it is required.

Manufactured in accordance with IEEE515-2004 and IEEE515.1 Standard for the Testing, Design,
Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Resistance Heat Tracing for Commercial Applications.
The test uses accelerated thermal aging to estimate the life expectancy of a products construction
over a prolonged period of time. This test method results in a life expectancy in excess of 40 years at
a maximum maintenance temperature of 65ºC.
