Referral Clerk (MUNSON Army Health Center) March 2015 to June 2016
 Serves as a ReferralClerk, responsible for the performance of a variety of substantive duties in
support of the ReferralManagement Center. Primary among these duties is timely referral
processing by and tracking, obtaining, posting, and entering referralresults into the Health Artifact
and Image Management Solution (HAIMS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology
Application (AHLTA),in accordance with established policies and guidelines for patients
requiring specialty medical care services,with in established Access To Care (ATC) guidelines.
Work primarily consists of processing and tracking referrals to medical providers and obtaining
reports of results of those provider visits in a format that is usable, and processing authorizations
for provider care in the Managed Care Support Contractor's (MCSC) network according to
currently accepted guidelines. Supporting duties include but are not limited to; confirming
accuracy and consistency of enrollee information within the Defense Enrollment and Eligibility
Reporting System (DEERS), Composite Health Care System (CHCS), and within other data
systems, verifying patient enrollment and eligibility for treatment, and advising beneficiaries
regarding the services available in the Health Readiness Platform (HRP) and how to access those
services. Works in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of
1996 (HIPPA),the Privacy Act (5 U.S.C. 552a), patient safety guidelines, organizational standard
operating procedures, Army/Medical Command (MEDCOM) regulations, and TRICARE Regional
Office-West (TRO-W) guidance. Maintains a customer-centered focus in all activities. Works with
