1. Helping Hands
There are many career options to consider during one’s journey through life. As a child, the
question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” stimulated my motivation to strive for
excellence. I recall having an affinity for helping others as an adolescent. Upon my completion of the
Certified Nursing Assistant program through my high school internship, I realized it was not only a
steppingstone,butalife experience that fedmypassionasa caregiver.
Now, when asked why I chose to pursue a nursing career, my reply is, “This is what I am meant
to do.” My physical presence on earth is to be a helping hand, by fostering an environment that
supports, encourages and informs others of the preferred health care and state of being. It is important
to be a positive contributor to society and committed to a lifelong pursuit of good personal health, as
well as, communities worldwide. I am part of a generation encouraged to motivate new knowledge to
improve the healthcare andthe advancementof professional nursingpractice.
In order to provide my healthcare contribution as a superior nurse professional, I am honored to
enter Herzing University’s Nursing Program. My goal to fulfill the role of a well-developed graduate
during my collegiate studies starts here. I am more than willing to accept the challenges ahead to
promote excellence, scholarship and leadership. The best patient outcomes are through the delivery of
comprehensive and cooperative healthcare. I take pride knowing I have an opportunity to fellowship
with colleagues within the healthcare field, who endeavored to help cultivate my goal, in reaching my
highestpotential.
