Help Save the Rainforest! By: Trey Guthery
The Rainforest is… -- Rainforests are havens for millions of animals Everywhere you look you see hundreds of plants and animals The rainforest is a large, dense forest in a hot, humid region A rainforest is an endangered type of forest that has plants of many different types that attribute to our medicines Rainforests are beautiful sunlit covered floors and humid air
Help save the rainforest because The loss of rainforests can change the weather pattern across the world Many important products, such as valuable medicines, come from the rain forest's plants. Loss of forests creates problems for nearby regions If the forests are lost then the cultures and traditions of the forest people will be lost. --Almost half of the world’s rain falls over the rainforests
Help save the rainforest by… Keep your cats indoors because an average cat kills 40 birds a year which upsets the predator/prey balances Don’t use pesticides on your lawn because they give off ozone threatening gases Plant a tree in order to keep our trees alive and to keep them her on earth Use less paper because over half of the worlds paper comes from the rainforests Dispose of old paints and oils because they spread dangerous and ozone threatening gases
5 more facts about the rainforest ¼ of our medicines originated in the rainforests house over half of the world’s plants and animal species in most tropical countries, only one tree is being replanted for every 10 cut down Trees do not need thick bark to hold in moisture like in temperate zones, so most have thin, smooth trunks About 2,000 trees per minute are cut down in rainforests
