In the framework of an eTwinning project about the image and the imaginary our students present the myth of Helen as Euripides saw her in his play.

2. Euripides presents a different version of
my myth, Beautiful Helen’s myth.

3. The story begins when Paris decides that
the most beautiful goddess is Aphrodite
and he gives to her the gold apple of
Εsperides. She had promised me as a gift
to him… Hera and Athena are so furious!

4. Zeus, my hubby, I can’t stand it.
We have to find out a way Helen
not to go to Troy.

5. I will make a clone of Helen. The
real Helen will never go to Troy.
Perfect, my

6. Hermes, you will transfer Helen to
Egypt to the King Proteas!

7. So I came to Egypt. I thought I
was protected in the palace
but…

8. Proteas , the king of Egypt
has died and his son,
Theoklimenus wants to
marry me.

9. I have come as a beggar to
his father tomb in order to
ask for help.

10. In the meantime, 17 years after, Menelaus
has lost almost all of his ships at sea and
comes after the shipwreck in Egypt. He
meets me and we have recognized each
other.

11. We have to cheat
Theoklymenus and to get
out of here.
We need a
rescue plan!

12. I will ask Theoklymenus to give us a
ship in order to do a funeral
ceremony for you, Menelaus. I will
say to him that you have been lost in
the sea and you are dead. You will
pretend you are the only survivor
from the shipwreck, darling.

13. Menelaus and Helen they
have achieved their goals
and they returned to Sparta.
