Taking Care Of Your Body
I can not stress enough how important it is to take care of your body. Our parents teach us to take
care of ourselves from the moment we're born. Everything you do affects your physical, mental
/emotional, and social health. Taking care of your body is very beneficial. By staying physically
active you are allowing yourself to be in shape. For example, going for a walk daily is one easy way
to be physically active. It is important to keep up with your physical health because by doing so you
decrease your risk of disease, look better, and it helps you avoid injuries. If you're not physically
active it can cause anxiety and other problems. However it is also important to take care of your
body to maintain healthy mentally/emotionally. You can keep up with your mental/emotional
health by learning to express your feelings in appropriate ways, thinking before you act, and by
striving for balance in your life. Follow these three easy steps and you'll be on your way in no
time. If you lack these skills you could find yourself needing therapy and other types of
medication. Finally the importance of taking care of your social health. You keep your social
health, healthy, by staying positive, being nice to others, and by having respect. Not everyone is
going to agree with you and not everyone is going to like you. All you can do is be yourself and
surround yourself with people that inspire you to do better. These are three of many reasons why it
is important to take good care of your

Importance Of Healthy Lifestyle Essay
Health is very important. It's how you treat yourself and how you define it. It's very important to
maintain a healthy lifestyle. One should make time for everything within their busy lifestyle for
things like sleep, exercise and eat healthy. I believe that those are necessary factors for an
everyday lifestyle. I know that for myself I would want to prevent diseases in any possible way that I
can. In order for myself to accomplish this, I try to take care of myself as much as I can. To feel
emotionally and physically healthy I always fit in the time and effort to add those factors to my
everyday life.
What does it mean to be emotionally and physically healthy? Well, in my definition it means that I
shouldn't let myself down and I should have positive thoughts about everything that makes me
happy. Physically healthy I think for myself should be that I take the time to do some sort of
physical activity and eating well most of the time so I can feel good about myself.
Being happy is also a major factor. One thing that I have learned over time is that being fit is not
the only way that you can feel fresh. When I feel that I am healthy, I feel like I have all the energy
in the world. Feeling healthy just makes me feel more alive and that way I'm more productive. I
don't slack around and do nothing. I'm able to stay focused on school, go to the gym, and also go
to work. It makes it easier for me to do all these things rather than complain about all of the
workloads and not doing

What Does Being Healthy Mean To Me
Healthy is a very broad term that people use, although it has a different meaning to all of them. For
some they may be describing the health of an animal, a child, or even a tree. For others, they may
describe their social life as healthy or their mindset. There are also different types of health including
physical, mental, emotional, and social. To me, being healthy is having physical wellness throughout
your body, a stable mental situation, and balanced social connections.
In my opinion, to be healthy includes having good physical health. You are able to preform most, if
not all, normal tasks throughout each day efficiently and effectively. You are able to preform them
with no unusual side effects including pain, stiffness, wheezing, coughing, popping or cracking
joints, and swelling. You should have normal strength and control of all body parts and should
have a healthy weight and BMI (body mass index). A person should also have good cholesterol and
blood pressure along with a good nutritional diet. Your body should be able to resist disease and you
should overall just feel healthy and good.
Also, along with physical health, you should have a stable...show more content...
I believe that people are capable of obtaining, keeping, and nurturing good relationships. They
should be able to have friends that they can be themselves around and that set a good example. I
believe that you become who you decide to associate yourself with, so I believe that people
should have friends with good characteristics and lifestyles so that you may be more like them.
You should also be able to sacrifice time, effort, and energy to contribute towards your social health.
One should also have a mentally and emotionally stable image of oneself and have good
self–esteem. Finally, you should be able to give up some of your characteristics that make the
relationship unsatisfying in order to bond and have a stronger social

Essay on Maintaining a Healthy Body
"MAINTAINING A HEALTHY BODY"
A healthy body goes hand in hand with a person's healthy lifestyle whose characteristics include
someone who does not smoke, has a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 and 25, eats 5
portions of fruit and vegetables a day and has daily exercise (9). The World Health Organisation
(WHO) classify values outside of the normal parameters as being underweight if the value is
below 18.5 while values exceeding 25 are considered to be overweight (14). To put this into
context, it is reported by the Northern Ireland (NI) Executive that 450 deaths in NI were caused by
obesity in 2010 while Trevedi (2006) estimates that 75% of worldwide deaths from non–contagious
diseases will be related to an unhealthy diet by 2020...show more content...
The consumption of a balanced diet, inclusive of 5 portions of fruit and vegetables, is supported by
Bhattacharya (2003) who studied patients following an 'ape diet' rich in plant food that he found
lowered the amount of LDL's in the blood consequently reducing cholesterol levels (1).
There is controversy surrounding the use of BMI as it does not take into account the relative
proportions of muscle, bone and fat in the body as each will have different densities. Athletes will
therefore have a much higher BMI, due to their high muscle and low fat content in their body (4).
The heart is a muscle that provides the body tissues with blood rich in glucose and oxygen, as
well as removing waste products such as carbon dioxide. Exercise tones the heart muscle making
it more efficient at supplying the needs of these tissues by increasing cardiac output which is
'stroke volume x heart rate' (6). An increase in exercise will increase aerobic respiration therefore
releasing more carbon dioxide (CO2). CO2 forms a weak acid which is detected by pH receptors
in the aortic body which will then send nerve impulses to the breathing centre in the brain resulting
in an increase in 'the rate and depth of breathing' (6). It is for these reasons that Government policy
and local council directives have introduced schemes such as cycling to work incentives,
revitalisation of public parks and National Health Service (NHS) mobile health checks for blood
pressure to screen for early

Essay about The Unity Of The Mind And Body
The Unity of the Mind and Body
Both Michel De Montaigne and John Donne argue that the cultivation of the mind is linked to the
well being of the body. Both argue that a mind void of proper enrichment and education will lead to
an unhealthy body. However, Montaigne argues that the appropriate means of 'education and
enrichment'; are studying and following the works of other great thinkers of history. Additionally,
Montaigne declares imagination to be the impetus for the downfall of the body. Conversely, Donne
argues that a mind groomed in imagination is the proper mode of finding bodily health. In their
writings, both Montaigne and Donne are seeking a unity between the mind and the body. By
comparing Montaigne's Essays and the poetry...show more content...
Finally, Montaigne's essay 'On the Education of Children'; reveals Montaigne's argument against the
learning of 'profitless'; knowledge, or in other words. He says that '…most of the branches of
knowledge in current usage are valueless to us…';(pg.65) and that '…we must limit the
extent of our studies in those branches…';(pg.65). Montaigne's apparent argument is that only
a certain type of education, one based strongly in the thought of the 'great thinkers,'; is the type of
education that will provide for not only a healthy body, but also a healthy mind.
In Montaigne's essay 'On the Power of the Imagination,'; Montaigne next argues against the perils of
the imagination. He declares that the imagination, unlike freethinking based in acceptable
knowledge, leads directly to an unhealthy body. Montaigne first attacks the sheer power of the
imagination. Montaigne states regarding the imagination that 'Everyone feels its impact, but some
are knocked over by it';(pg.36). He contends that the imagination is something that slowly begins to
take over the mind of a person and drive them further from the appropriate lines of learning. He
argues that the imagination leads to the harm of the body. His first claim on this is that bad thoughts,
such as having bodily failures (Montaigne uses the example of impotence), are spawned from the
imagination. He declares

The Importance Of A Healthy Body And Mind
A healthy body and mind are essential for improving the quality of my well–being and ensuring I
live a long extended life. Making good choices and decisions in my daily routine is the best
approach to take for achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. When it comes to health,
everyone makes good and bad choices which can either help you have a better life or force you to
face the consequences of illnesses and addictions. Individual behaviors, social and economic factors,
pollutants, access to quality health care, and policy–making are all core factors and equally
important influences to ensure everyone's well–being. Achieving any one of these improvements
requires planning a schedule that includes time for managing my school priorities, my health, as well
as ensuring adequate sleep and exercise. Scheduling would help simply the overwhelming list of
things to do, and in turn keep my stress levels low and allow time for socializing and relaxation.
Some important things I can focus on to improve my health and well–being are, exercise and
physical fitness, choosing nutritious meals, scheduling regular health and wellness check–ups, and
avoiding negative social influences. Proper exercise and physical fitness are important for
improving my wellness and can be beneficial in preventing the onset of the many health problems
and illnesses that run in my family, including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, lung
disease, osteoporosis, obesity. It could be so

Reflection On Health And Wellness
Part A: Health and Wellness What health and wellness mean to me may be different than what the
textbook would state health and wellness is. Health means to me the condition in which your body
is, which could be poor or good health. The mind, spirit, physicality would pertain all to the state of
one's body. Wellness is the consistent goal towards being in wellness meaning that one strives to be
in good personal health. The book describes wellness as; " wellness is the physical–well being ,
emotional–well being ,and spiritual– well being." (Robert T. Harper) According to Merriam Webster
the definition of health is "the condition of being sound in mind, body, and spirit."(...) There is not

pregnant. One choice in particular that i made that impacted me negatively was when I decided
to have unprotected sex. This opened my chances of catching a diseases more likely as opposed

young to be pregnant and raise a child. This choice i made impacted me negatively because my
period was late and i became overwhelmed with concern that it affected my relationship with my
family because i felt like i had failed them. I stopped myself from interacting and going to family
gatherings. It also affect me in the aspect of having baggage to carry fir the rest of my life with
each person i decided to have sexual encounters with. The choices i made after this occasion was
making sure i protected myself at all times with using some type of contraceptive. I also made

become sexually active to make sure they always use some type of contraceptive. That the baggage

Memory is our ability to retain, store, and recall information and past experiences in the human
brain. Not only is memory important for retention, but it also provides the capability to adapt from
the past, learn, and build relationships with others. In a more scientific sense, memory is a set of
encoded neural connections in the brain. These connections are recreations of the neurons that fired
during the original experience. Overall, memory is an essential asset to human life. As a child,
connections in the brain are form quite rapidly because of all the early learning that is being done
such as how to walk, communicate, and even tie shoes. But as age increases, the brain's ability to
make these connections slowly deteriorates and this...show more content...
These include complex carbohydrates, smart fats, phospholipids, and amino acids. Slow
releasing complex carbohydrates produce relatively slow increases in blood glucose and modest
insulin release, both good for the body as a whole. These complex carbohydrates can be found in
foods such as vegetables, bean, or foods that contain whole grain. Smart fats, such as omega 3 and
omega 6,are important fatty acids for brain health. Smart fats can be found in vegetables, flaxseed,
and walnuts. Phospholipids are a kind of fat that enhances mood and mental performance.
Phospholipids are in foods such as egg yolks, soymilk, and peanuts. Amino acids keep
neurotransmitters working optimally, which are essential to the connections for memory. They can
be found in soy foods and sources of animal protein. Trying to add these "essential brain boosting
foods" to a nutritious diet will have an excellent effect on the body. It will function better, boost
mood, and improve brain function. These positive effects on the body will help improve memory.
Along with good nutrition it also helps to keep the glycemic index of foods in check. The glycemic
index measures how strongly a food affects blood sugar and insulin. Lower numbers of glycemic
index mean lower spikes in blood sugar and insulin. For example, brown rice has a lower glycemic
index than white rice, fifty to eighty–nine respectively. Research has shown a link between elevated
blood sugars and memory related problems

Maintaining a Healthy Body Essay example
Maintaining a Healthy Body When people eat the things that they want to at the time, it's an
almost guaranteed bet that they don't know what's nutrients are inside of the food, or what's good
for their body. If they did, they wouldn't put half of what they eat in it. What you put in and out of
your body decides how healthy your body can or will become. Having good eating and drinking
habits will most likely force your body to be in good health. To have a healthy body, junk food needs
to be avoided. If too much of the wrong foods can cause your body to deteriorate slowly. There are
several ways to maintain a healthy body. One of these ways to eating properly is to follow the

Too much alcohol can only be harmful to your body. This list isn't the only way to maintaining a
healthy body. There are six different food groups that can help you maintain a healthy diet and
body. The groups are: meat, bread and cereal, fruits, dairy, vegetables, and fats/oils. These groups
provide the nutrients that a body needs. The meat group includes other foods beside the basic beef.
There are foods like poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts. The bread/cereal group also includes
pasta and rice. Fruits are pretty self–explanatory right along with vegetables. The dairy products are
the foods made with milk like yogurt and cheese. One group that you need but can't have a lot of is
the fats. Even though it has fat in it, your body can't live on those nutrients alone. All of the foods
go hand in hand, if used properly. That means you have to maintain a good eating balance. Balancing
your diet is one of the most important way to staying healthy. Eating too much of one thing, whether
healthy or not is not keeping your diet balanced. The correct amount of each food group will help
you maintain a balanced diet. When consuming products from the dairy category, only 2–3 servings
are sufficient. While eating from the meat group, you should only take in 2–3 servings also.
Sometimes a second helping is okay. In the vegetable group, you should eat 3–5 servings. In the fruit
group, you should have 2–4 servings (of different fruit). The most you

The Importance Of Yoga And Mental Health
Yoga and mental health are two topics that are often put in relation to each other. What if just
taking one hour of the day to stretch and meditate could increase your mood? We ask the question,
does yoga affect the mental health and wellness of a person? Yoga is a practice rooted in Indian
philosophy that was expected to relieve pain, stress, depression and other physical and mental health
issues. Mental health is based off of psychological, emotional, and social well–being. Meditation is
also integrated in some psychology interventions, which promotes a mind–body intervention
(Hendriks, 2017). Studies have shown why people practice yoga and all of its benefits. From
spiritual enlightenment to alternative medicine and rehabilitation, yoga is becoming a hot topic in
the health field. Lisa Diamond, a nurse practitioner and coach for health and wellness, studied yoga
as a way for her patients to incorporate self–management into their care. From a more biological
approach, yoga is viewed as a method for stress management and anxiety relief. Yoga activates the
autonomic nervous system and endocrine system, the autonomic system controls involuntary actions
in the body while the endocrine releases hormones in response (Diamond, 2012). The autonomic
system is split into the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems which are both greatly affected by
yoga. The sympathetic system controls the "fight or flight" response and get the heart pumping
under stress; parasympathetic works

The Benefits Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle
Benefits of Living a Healthy Lifestyle What is a healthy lifestyle? A healthy lifestyle is a way of
living that lowers the risk of being seriously ill or dying early. Not all diseases are preventable, but
a large proportion of deaths, particularly those from coronary heart disease and lung cancer, can be
avoided. It can be broken up into three different categories; Physical health, mental health and
nutritional well–being. Luckily there are many ways to improve each of these benefactors to truly
live a healthy lifestyle. Knowing is half the battle, but making the change is what makes the
difference. Undoubtedly, there's no way that anyone can argue being healthy. In today's world we
have all become more conscious that it's important to treat our bodies right, so we can live a long
and plentiful life. So, we can support for our families and hopefully live to see our great
grandchildren. Thankfully we have doctors, nutritionists and psychologists that we can count on to
give us the hard truth about what choices we need to make to be healthy. There are countless
numbers of articles and books that give some insight, but it's up to the individual themselves to
make the change. Now, there are two different kinds of physical health. There's physical fitness
which is "a physiologic state of well–being that allows one to meet the demands of daily living or
that provides the basis for sport performance." This basically gets into the more scientific or
biological side of fitness. Whereas health–related physical fitness, "involves the components of
physical fitness related to health status, including cardiovascular fitness, musculoskeletal fitness,
body composition and metabolism." Regardless of their differences both physical activity and
fitness are strong predictors of risk of death. Studies conducted by Warburton, Darren E. R., Nicol,
Crystal W., Bredin, Shannon S. D., show that both men and women who reported increased levels of
physical activity and fitness were found to have reductions in relative risk, by about 20 – 35%.
Clearly the importance of being physically fit is unmeasurable when put beside a human's life. As it
was stated before, knowing is half the battle. It's up to the individual to devote maybe an

School Lunch Benefits
"A healthy mind is in a healthy body." A nice wisdom I always see it annotate at schools walls, but

Alvarez Gonzalez, an American with a wide knowledge of the population of the region. What does it
mean to be healthy?
The state of healthy is when one enjoys a vigor of body, the mind or spirit.
What are some of the largest health concerns for this population? The main health concern is
based on the physical activity. Many people can remain healthy if they participate on daily

practicing good habits: mentally physically, and diet wise. When you live a healthy lifestyle, it is
crucial to ensure that all of the choices you have made match your value. A healthy lifestyle is based
on the choices you make daily.
One of the ways to live a healthy lifestyle is looking after your mental health. Mental Health is
defined as a state of well–being. Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological, and social
well–being. It affects how we think, feel, and act as we cope with life. It affects how we think and

I Am A Healthy Life Essay
I'm living a healthy life in most aspects. Fist of all I keep healthy eating habits. I seldom skip
breakfast during my weekdays so that I'm energetic for my classes everyday. I always plan my
breakfast the day before, such as bagels or eggs. Breakfast is important so I try to make it fresh
and delightful. Sometimes I drink tea instead of coffee. Black tea is my favorite because caffeine
in it is lower than green tea or coffee. I always feel too excited after drinking coffee. I feel my
heart beating faster than usual and my hands may even shake. Usually I don't eat a lot at night,
especially before sleeping. This keeps my stomach healthy and prevents me from getting weight. I
prefer eating healthier food rather than fast food such as burgers and fries. Sushi or other Asian
dishes are always my dinner. They are light and balanced in nutrition, and good for my digest
system. However, as a college student, I have some unhealthy behaviors which are common
between me and my friends. The first one is, I always sleep after 12:00 am at night and it can be
later during the weekends. As a result of sleeping late at night, sometimes it is hard for me to get
up early in the morning. On the weekends I always wake up after 11:00 am. This is very
unhealthy because I skip my breakfast and also my biological changes. I have to get used to the
healthy routine again every Monday. Another bad behavior is that I seldom do any exercises. I
used to do it for few times every week, but later I

Healthy Mind In A Healthy Body Essay

  • 1. Taking Care Of Your Body I can not stress enough how important it is to take care of your body. Our parents teach us to take care of ourselves from the moment we're born. Everything you do affects your physical, mental /emotional, and social health. Taking care of your body is very beneficial. By staying physically active you are allowing yourself to be in shape. For example, going for a walk daily is one easy way to be physically active. It is important to keep up with your physical health because by doing so you decrease your risk of disease, look better, and it helps you avoid injuries. If you're not physically active it can cause anxiety and other problems. However it is also important to take care of your body to maintain healthy mentally/emotionally. You can keep up with your mental/emotional health by learning to express your feelings in appropriate ways, thinking before you act, and by striving for balance in your life. Follow these three easy steps and you'll be on your way in no time. If you lack these skills you could find yourself needing therapy and other types of medication. Finally the importance of taking care of your social health. You keep your social health, healthy, by staying positive, being nice to others, and by having respect. • 2. Importance Of Healthy Lifestyle Essay Health is very important. It's how you treat yourself and how you define it. It's very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. One should make time for everything within their busy lifestyle for things like sleep, exercise and eat healthy. I believe that those are necessary factors for an everyday lifestyle. I know that for myself I would want to prevent diseases in any possible way that I can. In order for myself to accomplish this, I try to take care of myself as much as I can. To feel emotionally and physically healthy I always fit in the time and effort to add those factors to my everyday life. What does it mean to be emotionally and physically healthy? Well, in my definition it means that I shouldn't let myself down and I should have positive thoughts about everything that makes me happy. Physically healthy I think for myself should be that I take the time to do some sort of physical activity and eating well most of the time so I can feel good about myself. Being happy is also a major factor. One thing that I have learned over time is that being fit is not the only way that you can feel fresh. When I feel that I am healthy, I feel like I have all the energy in the world. Feeling healthy just makes me feel more alive and that way I'm more productive. I don't slack around and do nothing. I'm able to stay focused on school, go to the gym, and also go to work. It makes it easier for me to do all these things rather than complain about all of the workloads and not doing Get more content on HelpWriting.net

For some they may be describing the health of an animal, a child, or even a tree. For others, they may describe their social life as healthy or their mindset. There are also different types of health including physical, mental, emotional, and social. To me, being healthy is having physical wellness throughout your body, a stable mental situation, and balanced social connections. In my opinion, to be healthy includes having good physical health. You are able to preform most, if not all, normal tasks throughout each day efficiently and effectively. You are able to preform them with no unusual side effects including pain, stiffness, wheezing, coughing, popping or cracking joints, and swelling. You should have normal strength and control of all body parts and should have a healthy weight and BMI (body mass index). Essay on Maintaining a Healthy Body "MAINTAINING A HEALTHY BODY" A healthy body goes hand in hand with a person's healthy lifestyle whose characteristics include someone who does not smoke, has a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 and 25, eats 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day and has daily exercise (9). The World Health Organisation (WHO) classify values outside of the normal parameters as being underweight if the value is below 18.5 while values exceeding 25 are considered to be overweight (14). To put this into context, it is reported by the Northern Ireland (NI) Executive that 450 deaths in NI were caused by obesity in 2010 while Trevedi (2006) estimates that 75% of worldwide deaths from non–contagious diseases will be related to an unhealthy diet by 2020...show more content... The consumption of a balanced diet, inclusive of 5 portions of fruit and vegetables, is supported by Bhattacharya (2003) who studied patients following an 'ape diet' rich in plant food that he found lowered the amount of LDL's in the blood consequently reducing cholesterol levels (1). There is controversy surrounding the use of BMI as it does not take into account the relative proportions of muscle, bone and fat in the body as each will have different densities. Athletes will therefore have a much higher BMI, due to their high muscle and low fat content in their body (4). The heart is a muscle that provides the body tissues with blood rich in glucose and oxygen, as well as removing waste products such as carbon dioxide. Exercise tones the heart muscle making it more efficient at supplying the needs of these tissues by increasing cardiac output which is 'stroke volume x heart rate' (6). An increase in exercise will increase aerobic respiration therefore releasing more carbon dioxide (CO2). CO2 forms a weak acid which is detected by pH receptors in the aortic body which will then send nerve impulses to the breathing centre in the brain resulting in an increase in 'the rate and depth of breathing' (6). It is for these reasons that Government policy and local council directives have introduced schemes such as cycling to work incentives, revitalisation of public parks and National Health Service (NHS) mobile health checks for blood pressure to screen for early Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Essay about The Unity Of The Mind And Body The Unity of the Mind and Body Both Michel De Montaigne and John Donne argue that the cultivation of the mind is linked to the well being of the body. Both argue that a mind void of proper enrichment and education will lead to an unhealthy body. However, Montaigne argues that the appropriate means of 'education and enrichment'; are studying and following the works of other great thinkers of history. Additionally, Montaigne declares imagination to be the impetus for the downfall of the body. Conversely, Donne argues that a mind groomed in imagination is the proper mode of finding bodily health. In their writings, both Montaigne and Donne are seeking a unity between the mind and the body. By comparing Montaigne's Essays and the poetry...show more content... Finally, Montaigne's essay 'On the Education of Children'; reveals Montaigne's argument against the learning of 'profitless'; knowledge, or in other words. He says that '…most of the branches of knowledge in current usage are valueless to us…';(pg.65) and that '…we must limit the extent of our studies in those branches…';(pg.65). Montaigne's apparent argument is that only a certain type of education, one based strongly in the thought of the 'great thinkers,'; is the type of education that will provide for not only a healthy body, but also a healthy mind. In Montaigne's essay 'On the Power of the Imagination,'; Montaigne next argues against the perils of the imagination. He declares that the imagination, unlike freethinking based in acceptable knowledge, leads directly to an unhealthy body. Montaigne first attacks the sheer power of the imagination. Montaigne states regarding the imagination that 'Everyone feels its impact, but some are knocked over by it';(pg.36). He contends that the imagination is something that slowly begins to take over the mind of a person and drive them further from the appropriate lines of learning. He argues that the imagination leads to the harm of the body. His first claim on this is that bad thoughts, such as having bodily failures (Montaigne uses the example of impotence), are spawned from the imagination. Not only is memory important for retention, but it also provides the capability to adapt from the past, learn, and build relationships with others. In a more scientific sense, memory is a set of encoded neural connections in the brain. These connections are recreations of the neurons that fired during the original experience. Overall, memory is an essential asset to human life. The groups are: meat, bread and cereal, fruits, dairy, vegetables, and fats/oils. These groups provide the nutrients that a body needs. The meat group includes other foods beside the basic beef. There are foods like poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts. The bread/cereal group also includes pasta and rice. Fruits are pretty self–explanatory right along with vegetables. The dairy products are the foods made with milk like yogurt and cheese. One group that you need but can't have a lot of is the fats. Even though it has fat in it, your body can't live on those nutrients alone. All of the foods go hand in hand, if used properly. That means you have to maintain a good eating balance. Balancing your diet is one of the most important way to staying healthy. Eating too much of one thing, whether healthy or not is not keeping your diet balanced. The correct amount of each food group will help you maintain a balanced diet. When consuming products from the dairy category, only 2–3 servings are sufficient. While eating from the meat group, you should only take in 2–3 servings also. Sometimes a second helping is okay. In the vegetable group, you should eat 3–5 servings. Mental health is based off of psychological, emotional, and social well–being. Meditation is also integrated in some psychology interventions, which promotes a mind–body intervention (Hendriks, 2017). Studies have shown why people practice yoga and all of its benefits. From spiritual enlightenment to alternative medicine and rehabilitation, yoga is becoming a hot topic in the health field. Lisa Diamond, a nurse practitioner and coach for health and wellness, studied yoga as a way for her patients to incorporate self–management into their care. From a more biological approach, yoga is viewed as a method for stress management and anxiety relief. Yoga activates the autonomic nervous system and endocrine system, the autonomic system controls involuntary actions in the body while the endocrine releases hormones in response (Diamond, 2012). The autonomic system is split into the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems which are both greatly affected by yoga. The sympathetic system controls the "fight or flight" response and get the heart pumping under stress; parasympathetic works Get more content on HelpWriting.net

A healthy lifestyle is a way of living that lowers the risk of being seriously ill or dying early. Not all diseases are preventable, but a large proportion of deaths, particularly those from coronary heart disease and lung cancer, can be avoided. It can be broken up into three different categories; Physical health, mental health and nutritional well–being. Luckily there are many ways to improve each of these benefactors to truly live a healthy lifestyle. Knowing is half the battle, but making the change is what makes the difference. Undoubtedly, there's no way that anyone can argue being healthy. In today's world we have all become more conscious that it's important to treat our bodies right, so we can live a long and plentiful life. So, we can support for our families and hopefully live to see our great grandchildren. Thankfully we have doctors, nutritionists and psychologists that we can count on to give us the hard truth about what choices we need to make to be healthy. There are countless numbers of articles and books that give some insight, but it's up to the individual themselves to make the change. Now, there are two different kinds of physical health. There's physical fitness which is "a physiologic state of well–being that allows one to meet the demands of daily living or that provides the basis for sport performance." This basically gets into the more scientific or biological side of fitness. Whereas health–related physical fitness, "involves the components of physical fitness related to health status, including cardiovascular fitness, musculoskeletal fitness, body composition and metabolism." Regardless of their differences both physical activity and fitness are strong predictors of risk of death. Studies conducted by Warburton, Darren E. R., Nicol, Crystal W., Bredin, Shannon S. D., show that both men and women who reported increased levels of physical activity and fitness were found to have reductions in relative risk, by about 20 – 35%. Clearly the importance of being physically fit is unmeasurable when put beside a human's life. As it was stated before, knowing is half the battle. It's up to the individual to devote maybe an Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 22. I Am A Healthy Life Essay I'm living a healthy life in most aspects. Fist of all I keep healthy eating habits. I seldom skip breakfast during my weekdays so that I'm energetic for my classes everyday. I always plan my breakfast the day before, such as bagels or eggs. Breakfast is important so I try to make it fresh and delightful. Sometimes I drink tea instead of coffee. Black tea is my favorite because caffeine in it is lower than green tea or coffee. I always feel too excited after drinking coffee. I feel my heart beating faster than usual and my hands may even shake. Usually I don't eat a lot at night, especially before sleeping. This keeps my stomach healthy and prevents me from getting weight. I prefer eating healthier food rather than fast food such as burgers and fries. Sushi or other Asian dishes are always my dinner. They are light and balanced in nutrition, and good for my digest system. However, as a college student, I have some unhealthy behaviors which are common between me and my friends. The first one is, I always sleep after 12:00 am at night and it can be later during the weekends. As a result of sleeping late at night, sometimes it is hard for me to get up early in the morning. On the weekends I always wake up after 11:00 am. This is very unhealthy because I skip my breakfast and also my biological changes. I have to get used to the healthy routine again every Monday. Another bad behavior is that I seldom do any exercises. I used to do it for few times every week, but later I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
