Hybrid Commercial Vehicle
■ Motivation and Objectives
Fuels and Powertrain
Develop urban buses and delivery vehicles with advanced second generation of energy efficient hybrid electric
powertrains. Demonstrate early second generation buses and distribution trucks in practical real-life conditions in
different cities in the enlarged Europe in order to ensure good acceptance by public transport, delivery operators,
drivers and passengers.
• Develop high-efficient hybrid systems and components enabling mass market introduction.
• Cost reduction of 40%
• Fuel consumption reduction of 30%
■ Project Plan, Milestones and Deliverables
Advanced second generation vehicles which are cost effective and fuel efficient hybrid vehicles.
■ Technical Approach
• Field experiences from early second generation vehicles.
• Development of common components, functions and communications standards.
• Develop urban buses and delivery vehicles with advanced second generation of energy efficient hybrid electric
powertrains
• The final result will be the demonstration of a passenger bus and a distribution truck with this advanced
technology.
