Hazrat Ali was the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad. He accepted Islam at a young age and was the Prophet's standard bearer in many battles. The Prophet spoke very highly of Hazrat Ali and considered him his successor. Hazrat Ali played a major military and political role after the Prophet, fighting against pagans and later against other Muslims. He was assassinated while praying in the mosque of Kufa by an extremist group. His eloquent sayings were later compiled in the book Nahjul Balagha.
The presentation give brief idea on social and religious life of Arabia during the pre islamic period and also touches the expansion of Islam as a world religion.
Last Sermon of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is very comprehensive. While it aims at developing a social system based on justice, it underlines a balanced family life, individual accountability and spiritualism by keeping relationship with Allah, and duty of each individual to communicate the right knowledge to others.
Islam looks at life as indivisible whole, and (unlike various dogmas) does not artificially split life into secular (political, social, economic etc.) and religious (prayer, supplications, customs) domains.

MOTHER: Bibi Fatimah binte Asad
FATHER: Abu Talib ibne Abdul Muttalib
3. BIRTH AND CHILDHOOD
Hazrat Ali(R.A) was born in the Holy Ka’bah in 600AD.
Fatima Binte Asad stayed in the Ka’bah for 3 days and on the
fourth day she stepped out with Hazrat Ali(R.A).
“The Holy Prophet(P.B.U.H) brought me up in his own arms
and fed me from his own plate. I followed him wherever he
went like a baby camel following its mother…” Hazrat Ali
(R.A)
4. THE PROPHET (P.B.U.H) SAID,
“Ali (R.A) is from me and I am from him, and he is
the protector of every true believer after me.”
He (P.B.U.H) also said,
“I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate.”
5. HIGHLIGHTS OF HIS LIFE:
Ali(R.A) was the first man to accept Islam. From his childhood,
he(R.A) accompanied the prophet whenever he went to the cave of
hira and worshipped only Allah(SWT).
At Dawate Zul Ashira when the Prophet asked who would help
and support him in the mission of Islam, it was only Hazrat Ali (R.A)
who stood up. It was here that the Prophet first declared him as his
successor.
6. HIGHLIGHTS OF HIS LIFE CONT…
After hijrat it was Hazrat Ali(R.A) that the prophet trusted
to give back all the amaanat to the Makkans. Hazrat Ali was

Prophet to Madinah safely.

In all the battles imam was always in the forefront.
Badr - fought and killed more enemies than anyone else.

away in fear.

soldier.
8. NAHJUL BALAGHA
Hazrat Ali (R.A) had many excellent qualities and amongst
them was his eloquence.
Many years after his death, a man called Syed Razi put
together all the hadith, letters and sermons in a book that
was called NAHJUL BALAGHA meaning the Peak of
eloquence.
9. HAZRAT ALI (R.A) SAID,
“ Question me before you lose me. Question me, for I have the
knowledge of those who came earlier and those who will come
later. I could give judgments to the people of the Tawrat from
their Tawrat, to the people of the Injil from their Injil, to the
people of the Zabur from their Zabur and the people of Furqan
(Qur’an) by their Furqan. By Allah (SWT), I know the Qur’an and
its interpretation better than anyone who claims knowledge of it.”
10. PLOT TO KILL HAZRAT ALI(R.A):
After the battle of Nahrwan the "Khwarij" had gone
underground. As a matter of fact they were as much against
.Hazrat Ali (R.A.) as they were against Hazrat Mu'awiyah
(R.A.). They were still working against the Khilafat and they
were greatly disgusted with the civil war that seemed endless.

pray, stood behind him.
When the Hazrat Ali(R.A) was in the state of prostration, Ibne
Muljam dealt a heavy stroke with his sword on the Hazrat Ali’s (R.A)
head.
13. CAPTURE OF IBNE MULJAM
The murderer was caught and brought to Hazrat Ali(R.A).
When Hazrat Ali(R.A) saw that the ropes tied to him were
cutting his flesh; he requested that Ibne Muljam should be
treated more humanely.
