Local Hawaii is the 50th and most recent state, consisting of islands in the central Pacific. The capital is Honolulu. There are five main Hawaiian islands ranging in size from the largest, Hawaii, to the smallest, Molokai. Hawaiian culture has been influenced by Polynesian, American, Chinese, Japanese and other immigrant groups. The state has two official languages, English and Hawaiian, though Hawaiian Creole English is also widely spoken. Famous Hawaiian figures include singer Israel Kamakawiwoʻole and actors Maxim Knight and Jason Momoa.
