Introduction Puerto Rico is part of four islands.They are called The Greater Antilles. Puerto Rico has more than 60 cities.The Puerto Ricans are called Rainbow people because they intermarry people from different backgrounds like European, African and Native Americans. All Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens because Puerto Rico is a common wealth of the U.S.
Geography What does the land look like? Puerto Rico sits near one of the deepest trenches. Most of Puerto Rico hills and mountains. Puerto Rico is known for its forest called El Yunque.
Flag What does the flag look like and what does it mean? Three horizontal stripes of red alternating with two white stripes. A blue triangle on the left. It has a five pointed white star. It was adopted on march 3, 1952. It was first  used in 1895 officially.
Language What language is spoken? What are some words in this language? Puerto Ricans speak Spanish.
Food What special food is eaten in this country? Many Puerto Ricans dishes are made from a sauce called sofrito.
Celebrations Are there any different celebrations? Puerto Rico has a carnival every year. Carnival is a festival in the street. Carnival is celebrated with games and food. People wear mask to hide who they are as they dance in the street.
A famous person from this country Ivan Rodriguez is very famous for baseball in Puerto Rico.
Glossary Population- the total number of people who live in a place. Climate- the usual weather in a warm place is its climate. Geography-the study of the earth including its people and resources.
