This thesis examines the impact of drought on livestock production in Hargeisa District of Somaliland. It has the following key points: 1. The study aims to assess the impact of drought on pastoral communities' livelihoods and identify adaptation strategies used. 2. Drought was found to negatively impact livestock through reduced feed and water, disease outbreaks, and death. It harms livelihoods by decreasing production and income. 3. Common adaptation strategies used by pastoralists include herd mobility, destocking, and herd diversification. However, financial barriers limit adaptation. 4.
