Co-developed by Jefferson Awards for Public Service and Deloitte, it is now in over 250 High Schools.
Each spring, Student Leaders from the participating schools compete in regional competitions. They are asked to report on the implementation of the program, and the impact they've had, both in their schools and within their communities.

The camp hosts a summer program from June to August where campers participate in activities like aquatics, arts, and camping to learn Jewish values while being supported by over 200 staff members.

In this talk, Dr. Cori Faklaris of UNC Charlotte provides an overview of current AI capabilities and weaknesses to consider when integrating current AI technologies into the data workflow. The talk is organized around three takeaways: (1) For better or sometimes worse, AI provides you with “infinite interns.” (2) Give people permission & guardrails to learn what works with these “interns” and what doesn’t. (3) Create a roadmap for adding in more AI to assist nonprofit work, along with strategies for bias mitigation.

Harvard-Westlake School in CA Hosts Annual Film Festival
- 2. Having lived most of her life in the Beverly Hills, California, area, Debra Kasirer spends her time in leadership positions at educational establishments as well as several Jewish organizations. She remains passionate about helping support numerous philanthropic causes, especially those located in her home state. Debra Kasirer served as president of the Parents Association as well as head of the Annual Giving Committee at Harvard-Westlake School located in Los Angeles.
- 3. As president of the Parents Association, she helped to organize activities to connect parents with the school, including school spirit events and social gatherings as well as scholarships. In her role as head of the Annual Giving Committee, Ms. Kasirer assisted with fundraising for scholarships and worked closely with school administrators to determine what projects to fund. The school is a coeducational college prep day school for children in grades 7 through 12.
- 4. Each year since 2004, the Harvard-Westlake School sponsors a film festival at which aspiring student filmmakers can showcase their films. The 2015 event, scheduled for Friday, March 20, accepts entries from high schoolers through the end of 2014. At the festival, keynote speakers also discuss their careers in the movie industry; in prior years, the event attracted Tom Hanks, Kathryn Bigelow, and alumna Jamie Lee Curtis.
