The way in which we reflect upon a situation, shaped by the interpretation of a
significant event is defined as a critical incident (Tripp, 2011). Reflecting has been
crucial within my first two phases of PGCE as I have been able to value experiences
and make judgements to improve further. My home school practice was graded an
outstanding mainstream primary school (Ofstead, 2015), working 19 percentage
points above their local authority in reading, writing and maths (School
performance tables, 2017). The school s numbers are below average for free school
meals in the area and they have an average percentage of special educational needs
children. Pupil premium percentages are currently at 15 percent out of the 218

person in front of five people before they die or killing five people in front of one
(Feldman). Many ethical implications can affect the decision one may decide when
determining who lives and who dies based on how people are on the trolley. In this
scenario, I m in charge of the trolley and these are the facts.
Scenario one, There are five people on the track the direction the trolley is
traveling, the options are to switch the track that will allow the trolley to travel on
a different track or let the trolley stay on the same track and kill all five of the
individuals. In this situation, I m going to switch the track, of course to save those
five individuals. Scenario two, similar to scenario one, but one unaware person is
on the opposite side of the train track and based on the information I can either
save one life and kill five or save one and kill five. According to society, killing one
person to save five is for the greater good. But, life just doesn t work that one which

escalated into a complex emergency the way it did. Ethiopia was ravaged by drought
that caused a famine that killed thousands of citizens in the African nation. Many
nations and organizations stepped in to help but ran into many roadblocks in trying
to do so. Due to severe mismanagement of relief funds and food by the government,
those who needed help were not getting it.
The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), was more concerned as to

As a child, I was a daydreamer. I loved to imagine myself in fantastic outfits,
surrounded by interesting people in a dazzling setting. My thoughts would also
often wander at night and I would dream so vividly about these things that it
almost felt like I was actually in those amazing places experiencing all the fun.
Sometimes I would be a beloved princess of a royal family in some far away land.
