Bill Gates is collaborating with the German Development Minister on a $10 million project to reinvent the traditional western-style flush toilet. The new "waterless toilet" being developed would not require water, making sanitation facilities and clean water accessible for more people in developing areas like Kenya. The current toilet design is too expensive and uses too much water for many, but Gates' waterless solution aims to recycle wastes and provide a more feasible alternative to improve global sanitation and help achieve UN development goals.
