Hydroelectric Energy By Victor Iacono
How It Works? Hydroelectric Energy is a form of energy gained through “hydropower” which is the production of electrical power through the use of falling or flowing water.
Is it clean? Hydroelectric Energy is very clean... It does not produce any greenhouse gasses or other pollutions. It produces no waste products. Its carbon-free energy and burns no fossil fuels.
Hydroelectric Energy throughout the world… Hydroelectric Energy is one of the most used forms of renewable energy, providing up to 20% of the world’s electricity. Hydroelectric energy is used in many other countries around the world, including China, Brazil, Canada, Russia, Tanzania, Iceland, and New Zealand. China generates more hydroelectricity than any other country. It has been proven that in the United States hydroelectricity is far more used and widespread than wind or solar power.
Key Facts Hydroelectric Energy doesn't cost a lot of money. The cost for hydropower operations and maintenance is much less than the price of nuclear energy or oil. Since Hydroelectric Energy is so clean, most people do not mind living near it.
