The human hand consists of 27 bones: 8 carpal bones, 5 metacarpal bones, and 14 phalanges. The carpal bones are arranged in two rows, while metacarpals are numbered 1 to 5 and consist of a head, shaft, and base. The phalanges include 2 in the thumb and 3 in each finger, categorized as distal, middle, and proximal.
