Creating a world class brand
The new Halstead and Dimplex brands form the cornerstone of a powerful new
visual identity system. They are the primary means by which we will communicate
the business values and product offerings to our target audience.
In the minds of our customers, the brands are shaped by the images they see,
the words they hear, the products they buy and the service they receive. When
you apply the Halstead and Dimplex brands to any form material, you are
communicating our brand values to our customers, our employees and our
competitors, it is therefore essential that there is consistency in this delivery.
The success of the brand depends on the individual efforts of each person involved
in the creation of brand communications. The consistent application of the brand
identity will allow us to create a strong unifying image of the brands.
It is important that you use the brand identities with care; they are one of our most
valuable and powerful assets.

Colours
The new colour palette has been carefully selected so that the logos and brand
elements can be used in a variety of ways depending on the final application.
The preferred treatment is the graduated logo, however this will not always be
possible to implement and for this purpose a solid design has also been created.
For applications where only one colour is available, the logos should be reproduced in
either solid Pantone 2758 or black.
The logo should not be reversed out in white.

Sizing and positioning
To maintain clarity of the logo, there are certain guidelines that should be followed
when reproducing at different sizes and with other graphic or visual elements.
An exclusion zone has been created based on the ‘x’ height of the brand word. This
area should be kept free from text and other graphic elements.
The logo should not be reproduced less than 25mm across it’s width otherwise some
detail may be lost.
The logo should always be centred when sitting with other graphics or text, but can
be offset on the page as per the examples shown later.
The logo should not be angled, skewed or disproportionally re-sized or treated in any
other way not shown in these guidelines.

Typefaces
The primary font chosen for the brand identity is MIC 32, a clean, modern, sans serif
font with excellent clarity at small sizes.
The font is available to purchase at http://www.t26.com/ in both Mac and PC
formats.
The supporting font is DIN. This can be used for large amounts of text in printed
material or for more functional applications such as instruction booklets and other
printed material.
The supplementary font is Arial. This should only be used when MIC 32 or DIN are
not available or for general documentation and letters. Arial is also the recommended
font for on-line text.

Printed and web applications
For printed and web applications, an additional brand element has been created
which echoes the wave of the ‘H’ icon within the logos. This graphic element is
available in EPS format along with all the other logos from any of the brand
guardians.
The preferred treatment is to use the wave as a mask over the graduated background
or to the edge of images as shown on the sample product brochure.
Imagery is a key element to all brand communications and key lifestyle photography
should be used in conjunction with clean, well lit product photography.
Stationery has been created with solid Pantone Process Blue printing to the reverse
of all items.
