Topic 1
Where do ideas come from for research?
Twitter chats usually follow a Q&A format. The host asks questions or posts
discussion topics (indicated by Q1, Q2, etc.) and participants post answers (A1, A2,
etc.) to make it easy to follow along.
We will start by asking everyone to introduce themselves to let us know who is
joining/following the hashtag.
This will be followed by these questions:
Q1: Where might research questions come from?
Q2 Once you have a RQ how can you determine if it is an idea worth
pursuing?
Q3 One RQ or several RQs-how big should you go?
Q4 What are the common pitfalls when writing RQs?
We all use the same hashtag and for the research Tweetchats this will be
#HallamHealthResearch
We do research primarily to improve the care for patients, but there are additional benefits for the development of our professional practice (and the profession as a whole, Radiography, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing etc), there are also many personal benefits to undertaking research, these include broadening knowledge, personal satisfaction that comes with improving care, opportunities to broaden sphere of work colleagues, and development of new skills among others.
When our students graduate we want to make sure they are not only research informed but research enabled.
