• It’s a shaking of
  land inside the
  Earth.
• Main causes:
 - Tectonic activities.
 - Volcanic processes.

• It happened in Haiti, 15 km
  from the capital, Port au
  Prince.
Story about the catastrophe




• It occurred the 12th of January in 2010.
• There had been 52 aftershocks.
Consequences and effects
• Soil movement.
• Rupture and friction of tectonic plates.
Casualties, injured, effects...




• 316.000 dead people.
• 350.000 injured.
• More than 1.5 million people were left homeless.
Some other catastrophes of
       the same time
• A beach was hit by a localized tsunami
  shortly after the earthquake.
• Three people were swept out to sea by the
  wave.

• A two-year-old girl survived during six days under some
  debris.
• The police fired in the air and killed a young 15-old-year
