Gulayan sa Paaralan is a school gardening program conducted by Bagong Silang National High School in February 2022 to improve nutrition and reduce dropout rates from poverty, hunger, and malnutrition. The program oriented parents and students on the importance of agriculture for food and income, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Teachers, parents, and students collaborated to establish a garden location, prepare the soil, and plant various vegetables to support the school feeding program and help students maintain proper nutrition. The project helped participants value gardening and encouraged planting at home as a source of food and income.
