This document provides guidelines for writing an article review assignment. Students are asked to write a 3 to 4 page review concisely discussing the key aspects of an assigned research article and important questions it raises. The goal is to examine the article's complexities, not judge its quality. Students should refer to guidelines on evaluating articles and tips for writing a critical review. The review should follow academic writing conventions, be clear, accurate and error-free.

1. Your review of your selected article should be a concise, thoughtful discussion of
the main features of the study described in the article and of important questions
that the study might raise for researchers.
2. Please refer:
a) the guidelines “A procedure for evaluating articles”
b) the reference “Writing a Critical Review” from The Learning Centre UNSW
3. The primary goal of your review is not to judge whether the study was good or
bad but to examine it carefully in order to understand better the complexities of
educational research.
4. Your written review should be approximately 3000-3500 words (3 to 4 pages).
Your writing need not be strictly technical or overly formal, but keep in mind that
this is an academic assignment that should follow the general conventions of
academic writing. Moreover, your writing should be clear, accurate, and relatively
error-free.
