6. Adrian Shilliday – Miller Const.
• Adrian is a Senior Design Manager and the Miller Construction BIM Leader. He
is currently developing and integrating their Keeping BIM Simple strategy,
processes, training and software into their management systems and is part of
the UKCG BIM Task Group. He has a wealth of construction industry experience
and understanding having worked for Miller for nearly 6 years where he has
developed Design Management and Sustainable Construction procedures, and
previously as a Project Architect for 6 years at Comprehensive Design Architects
in Edinburgh. Prior to this he worked on CGi modelling using Form-Z and Electric
Image and 12 years ago worked in 3D architectural design using the early
versions of ArchiCAD a small design practice in Belfast.

• 7:30 - 8:10 – Adam Ward – BIM Technologies
- THE ROLE OF THE INDEPENDENT BIM CONSULTANT/COORDINATOR.
• A look at the role of the Independent BIM coordinator from a
BIM.Technologies perspective.
• We will use live project examples to go through how we create BEPs,
standards and manage the BIM process from start to end, looking at the
tools and workflows at each stage, showing how BIM.Technologies saved
one of our clients over 1million at stage D.
• We will give a firsthand honest 'warts and all' look at how BIG BIM is been
implemented by developers, and contractors on live projects.
8. Adam Ward – BIM Technologies
• Adam’s role at BIM.Technologies is to develop the technologies that help the
construction industry solve complex problems by thinking differently. His role is far
reaching and is currently working as BIM consultant & R&D lead on some of the
UK’s largest projects.
• Before joining BIM.Technologies Adam was a Senor Architectural Technologist at
_spacegroup and a founding director of Bimstore.co.uk which helps integrate the
construction supply chain into the BIM process.
• As a fanatical evangelist of BIM and one of only a handful of Autodesk Certified
Professionals (Revit Architecture 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and Inventor 2013) in the
United Kingdom, Adam has presented BIM and Revit at various industry
usergroups and seminars including Autodesk university. He is one of only a handful
of Autodesk Revit Gunslingers, invited to Autodesk USA to test and give feedback
on future products and ideas.
