4. Michael Boyd – WSP
• Senior Structural Technician, WSP Group. BIM lead for WSP’s offices in
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Stockton, Manchester and Leeds.
• Started off at BMJM moving to WSP in 2006 to work on the forth Valley
Acute Hospital in Larbet (Stirlingshire) spending three years on the project,
winning best structural design in the inaugural Revit Design Awards. Now
WSP’s lead technician and BIM Manager for the South Glasgow Hospitals
project, the largest health campus in Europe.
5. Meeting 3 – 14th October 2010
• 6.25pm 1st Presentation by Michael Boyd of WSP -
Based around the Forth Valley Acute Hospital and the New South Glasgow
Hospital. WSP’s Revit journey on FVA, discussing how things progressed,
collaboration with the design team, lessons learned and how they
approached the New South Glasgow Hospital differently.

6. William Robertson – Crown House
• Currently CAD Manager for Crown House Technologies, the MEP arm
of Laing O’Rourke. 15 years in the position, in the time has been
instrumental in the development of CAD from its inception within the
company to its current position when 95% of all projects are
developed on a 3D platform within the AutoCAD packages.
• Prior to this William was with Babcock for 14 years working with both
Pipework and Nuclear business, based in Renfrew where William was
a Piping CAD Draftsman then section leader.
• William has been using various CAD packages since 1983 including
IBM’s mainframe CADAM system, CATIA through to various AutoCAD.
• Projects worked on include; Glasgow Airport Phase 2 – BAA
Framework, Hairmyres Hospital – M&E Services, Chunghwa Picture
Tubes – Mechanical Services, Hyundai, Dumfermline – Mechanical
Services, Arora Hotel T5, Heathrow and Air Traffic Control Centre,
Prestwick.
