This document presents information from a leadership presentation by Group 3 members. The objectives are to define leadership, the roles of a leader, leadership styles, qualities of good leaders, and sources of power. Leadership is defined as influencing others to pursue shared objectives. The roles of a leader include demonstrating vision, encouraging involvement in policy formation, acting as a role model, and communicating goals. Leadership styles discussed include autocratic, democratic, and laissez-faire. Qualities of good leaders include honesty, responsibility, confidence, and determination. Sources of power come from expertise, charisma, resources, legal authority, and traditional roles. The importance of leadership includes role modeling, encouraging communication, promoting organizational culture, and encouraging participation.
