Greenpeace
• Greenpeace is a non-governmental
  environmental organization with offices in
  over forty countries.
Goals
• Greenpeace states its goal is to "ensure the
  ability of the Earth to nurture life in all its
  diversity“ and focuses its campaigning on
  world wide issues such as global warming,
  deforestation, overfishing, commercial
  whaling, genetic engineering, and anti-nuclear
  issues. Greenpeace uses direct
  action, lobbying and research to achieve its
  goals.
Actions
• In the late 1960s Greenpeace evolved from
  the peace movement and anti-nuclear
  protests in Vancouver, British Columbia.
• Greenpeace is known for its direct actions and
  has been described as the most visible
  environmental organization in the world.
  Greenpeace has raised environmental issues
  to public knowledge, and influenced both the
  private and the public sector
Go Beyond Oil
• Greenpeace have launched the "Go Beyond
  Oil" campaign. The campaign is focused on
  slowing, and eventually ending, the world's
  consumption of oil. With activist activities
  taking place against companies that pursue oil
  drilling as a venture.
Forest campaign

• Greenpeace aims at protecting intact primary
  forests from deforestation and degradation
  with the target of zero deforestation by 2020.
  Greenpeace has accused several corporations,
  such as Unilever, Nike, KFC, Kit-Kat and
  McDonald's of having links to the
  deforestation of the tropical rainforests.
Greenpeace say no to :

• Genetically modified organisms (GMOs)

• Nuclear power

• Toxic waste
Priorities and campaigns
• Defending our oceans by challenging wasteful and destructive
  fishing, and creating a global network of marine reserves.
• Protecting the world’s remaining ancient forests which are
  depended on by many animals, plants and people.
• Working for disarmament and peace by reducing dependence
  on finite resources and calling for the elimination of all
  nuclear weapons.
• Creating a toxin free future with safer alternatives to
  hazardous chemicals in today's products and manufacturing.
• Campaigning for sustainable agriculture by encouraging
  socially and ecologically responsible farming practices.
