Greenpeace International is an international environmental organization founded in 1971 with the mission of addressing climate change through renewable energy, protecting oceans and forests, promoting disarmament and a non-toxic future, and sustainable agriculture. Based in Amsterdam, it has over 2.8 million supporters worldwide and offices in 41 countries. Recent campaigns have led to protection of the Great Bear Rainforest in Canada, Greece committing to non-coal energy, and electronics giant Philips improving electronic waste policies. In India, Greenpeace is working on smart and sustainable farming solutions in Punjab and finding ways for the IT industry to reduce emissions.
