•How do computer
process data into
information?
•DATA- refers to the raw data like numbers,
characters, symbols, images and other method of
recording.
•INFORMATION- is the processed, and
interpreted data within a context to give it
meaning.
Input Devices- Accepts data and instructions
from the user or from another Computer System.
Output Devices- Any computer hardware
component that shows results after the computer
processes the input data entered.
2 TYPES OF DATA ENTRY
1. Keyboard Entry- Data is entered through a keyboard
into the computer.
2. Direct Entry - A form of input that does not require
data to be keyed by someone sitting at a keyboard.
Direct-entry devices create machine-readable data on
paper, or magnetic media, or feed it directly into the
computer’s CPU
