Grade 7- Science Subject (Asexual and sexual reproduction)
1. Reproduction is the process by which
organisms produce offspring. How
different organisms reproduce may
vary.
There are two types of reproduction:
asexual and sexual.
2.
3. Asexual reproduction takes
place when one parent self-
reproduces. This does not
involve the union of two
reproductive cells called sex
cells or gametes. Lower
forms of organisms, like
bacteria and plants,
reproduce this way.
If living organisms stopped reproducing, life would cease to exist. Nature ensures that life continues in every type of living organism through the process of reproduction.
Most plants reproduce asexually through various means.

Asexual methods can also be done with a little help from humans. This practice is known as artificial plant propagation.
The seedlings possess all the traits of the parent plant.
Wind and water, as well as bees, bats, and birds, can transport pollen to the stigma.
Fruits of the tower dandelion, for instance, are dispersed by the wind; other fruits such as coconuts are dispersed by water. The fruit may be eaten by animals, and the undigested seeds are then dispersed around an area.
It occurs when an offspring is produced without the union of male and female gametes.
Most complex animals reproduce sexually process in which an offspring is formed from the union of sex cells or gametes produced by the two parent organisms.
