Google Wave was a communication and collaboration tool designed to merge features of email, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking. It allowed real-time collaboration and editing of messages by any participant in a wave. While some saw it as a potential disruptive technology, others viewed features like live typing as flaws since it transmitted half-formed thoughts and typos instantly without an ability to disable it. The tool faced challenges gaining widespread adoption before being shut down.
