They began a phased implementation in October 2017 and were fully live by September 2018. As part of onboarding staff, they created a "mini-game" where staff completed Trailhead training modules on a timeline for prizes. Successes included staff gaining experience in practice orgs, while pitfalls were a short timeline and lack of follow through from leadership. Going forward, they plan incentive programs and dedicated training time for ongoing learning.
Google Classroom for Elementary Classrooms
Everyday, my fourth grade students create, revise, and edit assignments and independent projects, provide feedback for me, and communicate with each other using Google Classroom. They can easily view due dates and grades and access resources and templates I share with them or even create their own and post them to a classroom message board. Google Classroom brings school to students, wherever they are and can give them greater control of the pace, place, time, and path of their learning.

Joomla World Conference 2016 GSoC and Joomla

My journey with open source software
Vijay Barve has been an open source contributor since the late 1990s, contributing to projects like Linux, Open Office, PHP, and Wikipedia. He has mentored students for Google Summer of Code (GSoC) since 2012, helping them design and complete open source projects. As an GSoC organization admin since 2020, he continues working with students and mentors to bring more diverse participants into open source software development. He advocates contributing to open source for skills improvement and resume building, and provides guidance to help more students participate in programs like GSoC.

glh Hotels needed a new training solution to train their 2,000 dispersed staff across multiple brands and job roles. Their existing classroom-based training was logistically challenging and did not reflect their modern guest experience. They implemented a Totara LMS with branded portals to host e-learning and staff information in a learner-friendly, mobile-accessible platform. In the first six months, over 18,500 courses were completed and e-learning saw stronger adoption than classroom training. glh Hotels is now using Totara to support inductions and new internal certifications.
