2. SOME RULES & TIPS
• You use quotes to search for a phrase for example to search my name I would have
to search “veronica osorio” if not ill get veronica mars.
• Search with an exact phase with quotes.
• You can also ignore spelling when you’re searching because google will
automatically correct you unless its spelled completely wrong.
• Use web friendly words
• Use descriptive words
• Don’t worry about upper or lower cases

• If you know you want your answer from a specific site you type site:nytimes.com for
example.
• If you want to search by any file type like pds so you would type filetype:pds
• To define something you just type define:
• You can calculate anything just type in the equation and google will do it for you.

4. SOME MORE RULES & TIPS
• Limit results to a specific date by clicking on search tool in the left panel, then
selecting date range.
• Use OR to include more than one way of expressing an idea, it must be upper cased.
• Typing (-): eliminates irrelevant results.
