2. It was three weeks into Melanie’s first year of high school. Everything was going fine. She liked her teachers, her classes, the school in general. And she really liked her new friend, Dean. He was so funny, and loved to tease her (in a playful, friendly way). …and he was pretty hot.
3. Which was why she was pretty excited to receive an IM from him this night. DeanB: Hey, Mel, u there? Every time she even saw his name, she got flustered. It was pretty hard to play it cool around him. Melliegirl: Hey Dean! Wut’s up?
4. DeanB:Nuthin. Just chillin. I wanted 2 ask u somethin. Melliegirl: Really? Wut? DeanB: Charlie’s havin a party tomorrow nite. U wanna go? Charlie was Dean’s best friend, and her friend Angelina’s boyfriend. He was pretty cool. Melanie’s question was…was this a date? He hadn’t shown any interest in her like that…unless she counted a little tickling and touching flirting. Her heart started pounding.
5. The only thing she could do was to say yes. Melliegirl: Sure! That sounds great. DeanB: Perfect. I’ll come get u @ 10 tomorrow nite. DeanB has logged off.
6. Melanie was all set up to go to the party tomorrow-she found the perfect outfit, knew the perfect things she would say…the only thing left to do was to ask her parents’ permission. “Hey Mom? Daddy?”
7. “Hey, sweetie. What’s up?” “Um, I wanted to know if I could go to a party tomorrow night.” “A party? Mel, you’re only fourteen. I’m not so sure that’s a good idea.” “Mom! You’re judging me based on my age! I’m perfectly able to look after myself.” “Melanie, I just don’t think it’s a good idea. I’m betting this kid’s parents aren’t home, there’ll be alcohol, and who knows what else!”
8. “Look, Mel, just stay home tomorrow night. We’ll order some pizza and rent a movie.” “No, Mom! I’m not ten anymore! That doesn’t excite me! I wanna be a teenager! That means I get to go to parties. I’m GOING to that party tomorrow.” “Melanie…”
10. “Look, Melanie, it’s really simple. You are NOT going to that party tomorrow. And don’t even THINK about sneaking out.” “Mom! That’s so not fair! I hate you!” “I’m sorry to hear that. Don’t forget to stomp to your room and slam the door behind you.” “Ugh!” ********************
11. The next day, Melanie was in the school library, quietly trying to find the book her English teacher assigned. “Hey,” she heard someone behind her.
12. She recognized that voice. She turned around, feeling jittery. “Hey, Dean!” “Hey again. So I just wanted to confirm I’m coming to get you at 10 tonight.” “Yeah, about that…my parents said I couldn’t go.”
13. “Oh, Mel. You’re so naive. What they REALLY said was ‘don’t get caught sneaking out’. “Actually they said not to sneak out, too.” “Listen-you wanna come to the party?” “Yeah…” “So…I’ll pick you up at 10. Make sure you’re quiet.” “If I get caught, Dean, I’m turning you into the police for helping a minor sneak out. You’re 18-you’ll go to jail.” “Is that even a law?” “Pretend it is.” “Pretend it is.” naïve
14. So that night, Melanie got dressed in her cutest outfit and primped up. Unfortunately, she still had 2 hours until Dean was due to come pick her up.
15. Finally, Dean came. Melanie slowly and quietly tip-toed down the stairs and out the door to his car.
16. She could hear Cobra Starship’s song ‘Good Girls Go Bad’ blasting out the stereo. “You ready?” Dean asked.
18. Melanie walked up to Charlie’s house while Dean parked the car around the corner. Her first moment of hesitation occurred when she noticed who she guessed was Charlie’s dad making out with some woman who looked MUCH too young to be Charlie’s mother.
19. She walked down the stairs to the basement, where the party was, and the first thing she saw was Angelina and Charlie making out. “God, Ang,” she said. “Do you EVER give it a break?” “Mmm,” came Angelina’s reply.
20. “Hey, Mel.” “Hey, there you are! Took you a long time to park.” “Yeah, I parked two blocks away. Cops can’t find the car so easy that way.” “Wow, you REALLY know what you’re doing.” “Sure do.”
21. “I feel really bad about sneaking out. My parents did say NOT to…” “Look, Mel, you’ve gotta get over this goody-goody thing. It’s not healthy.” “Says who?” “Me. C’mere, I’ve got something that’ll help you forget.”
23. Melanie’s second moment of hesitation came when Dean handed it to her and told her to drink it. “Um, Dean I really don’t think that’s a good idea. I’m only fourteen.” “Yet you’re at this party.” “But..” “Look, you told me you felt bad about sneaking out.”
24. “Yeah…” “So drink up. A couple more cups and you’ll have no idea what you’re doing.”
25. Melanie apprehensively raised the cup to her lips. The first sip nearly made her choke. It was definetely like nothing she had ever tasted before. She took another sip. It was starting to taste better…
31. “Great,” he said as he caught her arm to keep her from falling. She leaned against him as she giggled hysterically. “I can’t stand,” she gasped between laughs. “I know you can’t,” Dean said as he grinned. “Let’s go out to the car.”
32. That’s all for chapter 2a! 2b will be out in a couple days. The story is starting to get more fun to write, as I get to the turning point in the plotline.
33. Thanks to anyone who reads my story! Comments and constructive criticism are more than welcome, I love to hear what people think about my story! Wait, there’s more!!!!!!!! =====
34. Before you click out, you must marvel at my amazing photo-taking skillz! Or just this one pic I was lucky enough to catch. Now that you’ve seen my pregnant Sim from a random family I made in her PJ’s basking in the sun while she stands in front of her burning tree, you’re free to leave! Why Sims like to run out to view a burning tree and potentially kill themselves (which I’ve had happen to one of my Sims before, actually. Thanks, Maxis), I’ll never know.
