Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Republic of Tajikistan
Tajikistan (officially the Republic of Tajikistan) is a mountainous landlocked country in Central
Asia. Afghanistan borders it to the south, Uzbekistan to the west, Kyrgyzstan to the north, and
People s Republic of China to the east. Tajikistan also lies adjacent to Pakistan s Chitral and the
Gilgit Baltistan region, separated by the narrow Wakhan Corridor.

Thus, in the pre Buddhist times (7th 6th century BCE), the parts of modern Tajikistan including
territories as far as Zeravshan valley in Sogdiana formed parts of ancient Kamboja and the Parama
Kamboja kingdoms when it was ruled by the Kambojas till it became part of Persian Achaemenid
Empire. After the Persian
Empire was defeated by Alexander the Great, the region became the northern part of Hellenistic
Greco Bactrian Kingdom. From the last quarter of 4th century BCE until the first quarter of the
2nd century BCE, it was part of the Bactrian Empire, from whom it was passed on to Scythian
Tukharas and hence became part of Tukharistan. Contact with the Chinese Han Dynasty was made
in the 2nd century BCE, when envoys were sent to the area of Bactria to explore regions west of
China.
Arabs brought Islam in the 7th century CE[citation needed], more or less forcing the people to
convert. The Samanid Empire supplanted the Arabs and enlarged the cities of Samarkand and
Bukhara, which became the cultural centers of Tajiks (both of which are now in Uzbekistan). The
Mongols would later take partial control of Central Asia, and later the land that today comprises
Tajikistan became a part of the Emirate of Bukhara. A small community of Jews, displaced from the

3. Listening About Electronic Health Records
The purpose of this paper is to talk about Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Throughout the
paper, I will state the EHR mandate, who started it and when, its goals and objectives. I will
explain how is the Affordable Care Act (ACA) connected to the EHR. Furthermore, I will describe
my facility s plan and meaningful use. Finally, I will define HealthInsurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA) laws and what is being done by my facility to prevent HIPAA
violation.
Description of the Electronic Health Record
EHRs are computerized versions of patient s paper charts. EHRs makes the health information about
the patient accessible anywhere at any time. EHR holds the pertinent information about a patient s
medical history, medications, immunization record, allergies, radiology and other diagnostic
images, and lab results (Health Information Technology (Health IT), 2013). EHR makes patient
care safer by bringing together all health records from previous and current doctors, as well as
pharmacies and different diagnostic facilities.
In 2004, President George W. Bush issued an order for implementation of EHR in hope to help
improve the quality and effectiveness of health care in the United States (United States (U.S.)
Department of Health Human Services, 2008). The Office of National Coordinator (ONC) for
Health IT established Strategic Plan to establish coordinated transition for all Americans to have
access to EHR by 2014.
The EHR mandate has two goals, and each of these

4. Frederick Douglass Chapter 3 Analysis
In the first chapter of the book Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass, Frederick douglass
gives us first hand stories about him being a young slave. Frederick was not allowed to go to his
mother s burial and he did not know his own birthday as well both of which I find very crazy
because everyone knows their birthday but for slaves that was a common occurrence, and to not
be able to see your own mother s burial sounds awful. Douglass also witnessed the whipping of his
aunt at a young age and he wrote about it in extreme detail, for any young child this must be
scaring. The whipping was a punishmentfor Douglass s aunt because she went to see another slave
from a different plantation, in my opinion this is a incredibly harsh punishment for trying to
visit another slave. Douglass Says It was a most terrible spectacle. I wish I could commit to
paper the feelings with which I beheld it (Douglass 4). Douglass says this when he is talking
about his aunt getting whipped, he is saying that it was so bad to watch he could not even put his
feeling into words. All of these events emphasize how bad it really was to be a slave and stripped
of rights and to be treated like property.
Unfair slave masters
In chapter 3 douglass puts high emphasis on Colonel Lloyd and how he treated the slaves.
Douglass talks about how there are so many slaves on his plantation many of the slaves don t even
know what he looks like. Colonel Lloyd is very rich from his plantation and owns horses

5. Satire In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World
In the novel Brave New World and the short story The Modest Proposal ,they both use the literary
element sarcasm to stress an absurd situation. Each piece of work uses satire to bring attention to
actual changes in the world such as industrialization and the potato famine in Ireland.
These stories as a whole are both bringing up issues in a sarcastic way to make the readers really
think about it. They use irony and imagery to press the issues to make it known to try and actually
make something change and they both also use diction to bring specific pieces of evidence to the
reader to make them think about the issues even more.
In Brave New World, Aldous Huxley uses satire to bring up the issue of industrialization.
The way he does this is by showing how Brave New World is a world of mass production, even of
people; it is a world society where values are pleasure, order, and conformity. Huxley criticizes how
every part of the new World State is industrialized, as if life is one big factory.
Even strong relationships between people have no emotion and feel unnatural or fake. The way
the World State is designed in Brave New World is similar to a factory. In a factory everything is
designed to be as efficient as possible and to be stable. This is just like the creation of people in
the World State; laborers are being mass produced in a building that seems to be almost exactly
like a factory in our world today. Huxley uses satire throughout his novel, but in chapter two he
says,

Recent advancement in periodontal regeneration
Periodontology .
St. Moath Riad Saifi .
Introduction :
пѓ Regenerative periodontal treatment involves systems which are especially intended to
reestablish those parts of the tooth supporting structures which have been lost because of

including the development another periodontal tendon with its filaments embeddings in recently
framed cementum and alveolar bone.
пѓ Profound infra hard imperfections connected with periodontal pockets are the great sign for
periodontal regenerative treatment. Furthermore, distinctive degrees of furcation association in
molars and upper first premolars are a further sign for regenerative methodologies as the furcation
range stays hard to keep up through instrumentation and oral cleanliness. A third gathering of signs
for regenerative periodontal treatment are confined gingival subsidences and root presentation
since they may bring about a noteworthy tasteful sympathy toward the patient. The stripping of a
root surface with resultant root affectability speaks to a further sign to apply regenerative
periodontal treatment keeping in mind the end goal to accomplish both the decrease of root

An overcrowded area puts enormous pressure on the state for the provision of houses and other
services. People in the urban areas end up being jobless because there is a lot of demand for
jobs that is caused by this overpopulation. Even the rural areas suffer because there will be
depopulation, people will move out leaving the place to the elders only. The rural areas will not
be productive in anyway because people who are economically active have left, this means we

Mobile technology is changing the way we live and it is beginning to change the way we learn.
Mobile Learning (m learning) is a revolution in e Learning. Mobile learning involves the use of
mobile technology, either alone or in combination with other information and communication
technology (ICT), to enable learning anytime and anywhere. Learning can expand in different ways
people can use mobile devices to access educational article, connect with friends and others, both
inside and outside classrooms. Mobile learning also encompasses efforts to support broad
educational goals such as the effective administration of higher education systems and improved
communication between schools and families. M Learning is convenient in that it is accessible
from virtually anywhere. Sharing is almost instantaneous among everyone using the same content,
which leads to the reception of instant feedback and tips. This highly active process has proven to
increase examination scores from the fiftieth to the seventieth percentile, and cut the dropout rate
in technical fields by 22% (Saylor, Michael 2012).[1] M learning also brings strong portability by
replacing books and notes with small devices, filled with tailored learning

9. Alter Public Space Research Paper
How does one alter public space? The altering of public spaces means to change the atmosphere
of a public area in either a positive or negative way. Some people alter public space based off
their appearance, and others with their actions. There are many ways to alter public space, and it
happens way more than one may realize. There are not many times in my life where I distinctly
remember altering public space, but there are a few significant times that stand out to me. The three
most pivotal and memorable experiences that I have had in which I altered public spaceare the
tornado on April 27, 2011, when I first moved to Alabama from Ohio, and when I went to a
camp in Colorado for 5 weeks. The most memorable of these three events is the 2011 tornado. I
remember watching the weather channel as it was spotted heading toward Tuscaloosa, only for
the power to go out minutes later. I remember going to the heart of the devastation that evening
and just walking around amazed as I looked around at what looked like a war zone at the time.
The very next day my family and I went out into devastated areas and handed out food and water
to those who lost their homes. It was in doing this that I can look back and notice how I altered...

10. The Utilization Of The Low Income Housing Tax Credit
Preston J. Eberlyn
November 22nd, 2016
Grad Paper
Dr. Myron Levine
Privatize for the Better The utilization of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit or LIHTC has had
an overall positive effect on housing for low income families in the United States. Four key
outcomes of the LIHTC are: First, there is less likelihood of segregation within the tax credit
housing than in the government provided section 8 and government subsidized voucher programs
(Schwartz, p. 115). Second, the purpose of the program, which was to subsidize mixed income
housing to low and working class families, is provisionally being met (Khadduri, Buron, Lam, p.
10). Third, through decentralization of the implementation of the LIHTC program the federal
government allowed the state governments more latitude in the dissemination of the tax credits
to appropriate developers (Furman Center, p. 2). Finally, there is a correlation between the areas
where LIHTC housing properties are developed in the impact on the sounding region. This
correlation is both positive and negative in nature, but heavily is judged on the region that the
LIHTC is built in and as to whether it is in an urban center, suburb, or in the metro areas (Deng,
pp. 46 48). These four outcomes will guide the body of this paper about the overarching theme of
LIHTC as a policy tool as opposed to section 8 housing or government provided housing. To the
first key component or outcome is segregation, as it relates to the LIHTC program, about half (46%)

11. My Experience In College
This semester has been filled with many different encounters and situations. Many different
feelings and people. My experience in this first semester is likely one that I won t forget, I will
likely remember my first semester at Badley until the bell tolls for me and I leave this current
plain of existence and begin anew. Throughout this paper I will discuss what I experienced, the
problems I faced, and how I feel I improved because of this semester. First, I d like to go through
my experiences at Bradley during this first semester and how they shaped and molded me into
who I am at the end. I, like most people, have experienced the relatively limitless freedom that we
have at Bradley, being college students. For instance, going from a timeframe system of all day
school spanning from the early school years until high schooland then shifting to a timeframe
system that allows a lot more allotted free timeis quite liberating and very welcome. Being
trapped and confined to a single building for severals hours five days a week is not ideal for
anyone. It s almost like being in a prison, as many students have described school for years.
However, this new freedom, while it is welcomed, can also be disadvantageous because it can
and will cause laziness because with more freedom the more people will put things off and I
myself have fallen victim to this. There have been quite a few times that I have put off
assignments to play video games or to watch movies because I have hours or

12. Stradivarius Violin Research Paper
The construction of the Stradivarius violin is very unique compared to the build of other violins,
whether they were made centuries ago or serve as modern day instruments. While there are a
number of other rare violins and instruments of different kinds, not even one has ever came
remarkably close to achieving what Antonio Stradivari has with the making of his stringed
instruments, in particular, his violins. Over the years there have been many attempts to reproduce
the authentic sound quality of his instruments, but no one has ever been able to achieve this goal.

Stradivari was actually well in touch with the results of other impressive instruments that had been
constructed before his. He was able to gain experience by comparing the many instruments built
by the early Brescian and Cremonese makers by deducing from them the aspects that made them
unfavorable and applying these aspects to his own creative works. Every generation has
contributed something to the construction of musical instruments, and Stradivari combined these
centuries of contributions to create something astounding that opened up a new chapter in
history. While it is a known fact that Stradivari got a lot of inspiration from previous
violinmakers (Visconti, who is a well known violinist, is said to have given advice to this master
of violin construction), people insist that he was a natural born genius, so much so that he has
been claimed to be a superhuman . Based on scientific principles, many different works have been
written based on the unsurpassed tonal qualities found in his instruments. However, there has also
been a daily study of Stradivari s works that were compared to those of the craftsmen who came
before him. When put to the test it was found that the density of the bellies and backs of Stradivari
s instruments were made based on the principles of Gasparo, in addition to the result of a gradual
progression, which Maggini and Amatis had in common with him. Those who have examined his
work have noted that Stradivari adjusted the thickness of his instruments, but there is no indication
that he used any principles as a guide other than what has been derived from the practices of his
forerunners. Stradivari left the backs and bellies of his instruments a little thinner (or stouter), with
their backs displaying a larger variation than their

13. The Life Of A Woman, By Jamaica Kincaid
Lucy, the eponymous character of Jamaica Kincaid s second novel, moves from Antigua to New
York not in an arbitrary move, but in a calculated effort to explore her latent queer sexuality and
gradually escape the gendered labor of her homeland. By working as an au pair for an upper class
white woman named Mariah, Lucy trades birthing labor for domestic labor in a move that initially
seems lateral, but serves as a potential gateway to freedom from caretaking that would have been
inaccessible in Antigua. Unbridled from her mother, the American Lucy has opportunities to
explore her sexuality without being deemed promiscuous, and has the ability to live with a woman
she can have intimate relations with. Lucy has continuously disobeyed the performative
prescriptions of heteronormativity in her life, but, as explained by the work of Rosamund King,
her transgressions in Antigua are rendered invisible by a culture that believes women are incapable
of sexual agency. America acknowledges Lucy s transgressions against heteronormativity, which
lets her explore sexuality and gradually escape the obligations of gendered work. Lucy is escaping
the obligations delineated by femaleperformance. Lucy does not begin to experiment or play with
queerness and genderin America, but remains unassimilated to beauty standards with the same
intensity she had in Antigua. During her upbringing, her gender nonconforming behaviors and
ideology went ignored in Antigua because of the common misconception that females are
incapable of having sexual agency, intelligence, or usefulness beyond sustenence work and
caretaking within the household (King). Lucy is allowed to kiss girls, like her best friend from
school, and her does not fret over failing to enjoy acts of intimacy with males. Heteronormativity is
not enforced by expectations of female and male pairings, but instead by the gendered division of
labor. According to Nancy Hartsock s Feminist Standpoint, this tradition of forcing females into
sustenance work should create a collective caregiver essence to women, and Lucy proves the
antithesis. Akash Nichols, in his essay Straight Growth and the Imperial Alternative: Queer Reading
Jamaica Kincaid, delves into how 20th century and, as

In American culture being an athlete or a coach is a major aspect of many lives. What is even
more important than being an athlete or a coach is having a winning record. To achieve those
winning records, coaches tend to focus on the athletic performance aspect of kinesiology and not
realize the athlete is not the only factor when it comes to their athletic performance. Some of these
factors include coaching which can break down into the task/ mastery environment which are good
for athletes and ego environments which is typically more hostile, motivationwhich can either be
intrinsic or extrinsic, and anxietywhich often comes with coping techniques. If the coach can

State anxiety occurs during competition and decreases performances but interventions can decrease
cognitive and somatic anxiety (Prapavessis, Grove, McNair, Cable). Athletes can also attain
anxiety when they do not see their coaches as competent. For example, if a coach were to tell a
soccer athlete to do this and then they get hurt they would not trust them and be anxious doing any
other directions (Myers, Beauchamp, Chase, 2011). Since coaches are able to reduce an athlete s
anxiety then, coaches have the ability to create a positive atmosphere and in this study student
athletes had an overall positive view of their coaches ability to develop autonomy supportive team
climates (Noble Forester, 2016). According to researcher s anxiety may be a predisposition but state
anxiety is heavily influenced by the motivational climate, more specifically ego environments
athletes reported increases in anxiety over the season (Smith, Smoll, Cumming, 2007). When
athletes enter state anxiety many have coping methods, and PPR may influence performance
through lowering the athlete s anxiety (Hazell, Cotterill, Hill, 2014) or even self talk (Miles Neil,
2013), but the success of using these techniques would depend on the situation. However, some
research suggests that regardless of competition (good or bad) and sport (long duration/short
duration) athletes reported an equal number of experiences and implemented coping strategies
(Nieuwenhuys, Vos, Pijpstra, Bakker, 2011). With this conflicting research on how it effects
athletes, there is research that states giving athletes CSAI 2 or sports oriented questionnaires can

her misunderstanding of what he said to her takes place. After this, Cady s kind heart steps in.

19. African Americans And African American Community
As seen through time, African Americans have been at a disadvantage when it comes to accessing
funds that are available to most people. This however has not stopped them from creating and
accessing help that supports and aids their families. Through communal efforts, African Americans
have been able to create mutual aid for themselves. In these communities, there are many sectors
that have been built, but the main reason many are making it or able to afford and do what they are
currently doing is through the help of the various communities and organizations that came about.
Throughout each decade there have been forms of aid created solely for African Americans. Before
slavery, when African Americans were still in Africa, the communities were thriving economically
and socially. Africa produced a plethora of advanced civilizations. Although Europeans like to credit
themselves for the spread of Christianity, Christianity was in Ethiopia long before the Europeans
came. As one can see through time, church is an important communal and distinctive quality of the
African Americancommunity. In his book, West African Religion: A Study of the Beliefs and

23. The Public Sphere Of The Canadian Public
Since the beginning of the digital era, technological advancements have dramatically increased the
capability of media and decreased the barriers that one may experience to participate in said
communication. Although these advances have created several opportunities for the majority of
the Canadian public to participate in communications, there are still several obstacles faced by
minority groups: making participation difficult or impossible. In order to counter these barriers, the
Canadian government has been taking steps to provide all Canadians with national access to
communications services, catering to the needs of a few to benefit many. This is because in taking
steps to provide the communication services to all Canadians increases the ability of all citizens to
participate in the public sphere the internet creates. Moreover, increasing the communication
services availability strengthens the ethnic identity of minority peoples in Canada, reinforcing the
ideal of Canada being a Cultural Mosaic. Lastly, creating possibilities for these ethnic and cultural
minorities to represent themselves in the media nationally allows for positive perceptions of these
groups to be developed. Although members of the cultural majority may disagree, the actions taken
by the Canadian government to provide communications services to all Canadians is a good thing
as it benefits the entire country.

24. St. Athanasius Against Arian Heresy
St. Athanasius Against the Arian Heresy
The St. Athanasius greatly impacted the Arian heresy. The Arian heresy was very well rooted, and
St. Athanasius is recognized as the main Church Father to fight it. The heresy of Arianism started
in the early 300s. It was starting to gain followers, so the Church called for the Council of Nicea.
The Nicene Creed was made during this Council, and it rebuked the teachings of Arianism, which
made it an heresy. Arianism soon rose back from the ashes, and many Church members were
turning to it out of fear or corruption. St. Athanasius stayed strong throughout all of this,
continuing to preach and write of the heresies of Arianism. He survived five exiles and died
peacefully in his bed in the Alexandrian See. Arianism didn t just appear out of thin air, it had a
start just like all other heresies. The founder of Arianism was Arius. Arius was a priest in
Alexandria, who had studied in Antioch. Some of the subjects of his studies were the works of
Origen, Neoplatonism, and Gnosticism. He then started to preach that Jesus was sent by the Father,
however not equal to the Father. He said that Jesus was only called the Son of God because of his
heroics. Athanasius was the main opponent of this heresy,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

25. My Life Lesson Trough A Teacher s Eyes
The Life Lesson Trough a Teacher s Eyes, is a book written by Dr. Jillian Laderhouse. This book
is like a journal where Dr. Laterhouse tells personal experiences that have shaped her life. The
book commences off with a strongly affirmation where Dr. Latehouse states that be a teacher is her
life s calling. In the introduction of the book Laterhouse establish her foundation as a teacher, she
mentioned many experiences that shape her as a teacher and recall the fact that she lived in a
teacher professionfamily. She mentioned stories about her childhood, stories that have shaped
her life into the teacher profession; she stated I grew in a teacher s home . As I read the book I
noticed that I have not had the same opportunity as Laterhouse to live in a teacher s home.
However, as I continue reading the book I saw that the lessons learned by the author can help me
even though I did not grow in a teacher s home. It is evident in the book the spiritual life and God
centered life.
Laterhouse dived her book in seven lesson learned. Every lesson brings me to reflect about God,

those points that I consider important to my life. The first lesson learned was from parenting. As

Lord of the Flies and the Psychology of Deindividuation
This section is mainly about The Lord of the Flies by William Golding and how it illustrates that
one s external physical appearance can lead to a tremendous change in one s mental state. It is
really interesting how in the book, once the boys get over the initial moral dilemma of whether to
kill a pig and live or whether to let the pig live and die themselves, they have no problem with
killing pigs. With every killing, the death of the pig seems to become more brutal and
demoralizing. At one point, they even impale the pig with a stick in the anus, proclaiming their
deed in horrific valor. This goes back to sexual aggression because it can be viewed as the raping
and killing of a female pig. I can justify the gradual ease of killing pigs with an example. My
friend, who goes hunting often, told me about how he can manage to kill a dear without feeling
bad inside. He said that the actual killing is only hard the first time and that the other times, it is
relatively easy because one simply stops thinking about it. One thinks about the deer as the prey, not
as an innocent animal minding its own business. As for the experiment with the deindividuated and
individuated women, it seems to make a lot of sense

The Ottomans were by far the greatest of the Muslim empires. It was the greatest in size and power,
and it lasted the longest out of the three Muslim empires. Altogether, the Ottoman empire had the
greatest influence and made the most contributions to world history. The Ottomans had a great
influence on religion. Although the Ottomans we officially Suni Muslims, they respected the non
Muslims as well. They basically gave religious tolerance to the Islams as long as they paid their
taxes. When it came to Christians, they gave them tolerance too but they did not have the same
amount of religious freedom as the Muslims. Because of their lenient religious policies, many Jews
fled to the Ottoman empireseeking a safe hold. The Ottoman empire was extremely diverse. Many
different cultures, ethnicities, languages, and religions were scattered throughout the Ottoman
Empire. One reason for this could be their location. The empire connected Africa, Europe, and Asia.
This meant that they had different influences and ideas coming from all over. They also had good
trade and technology because they had access to three continents. The Ottoman Empire was so
great because of the exchange of ideas to and from different continents that surrounded them.

discussing what happens when a matter becomes public and why that publicity matters. Throughout

Over time, many practices contributed to the success and promotion of modern day medicine today.
The three early theoretical treatments consisted of the Humoral theory, anatomical theory, and the
germ theory. Today, each provided insight into knowledge of medicine. We will review each theory
and compare how different each are from one another and their historical significance today to
health and wellness.
Of the first, Hippocrates developed Humoral theory in 460 to 370 B.C. The treatment was based
on how the body handled the fluids within itself. Reviewing a patient s blood, urine, or other
fluids were vital to the success of the treatment. In addition, the treatment consisted of information
relayed from the patient to the practitioner to come to a diagnosis. The doctors of this period kept
detailed records containing historical data of the stages of the illness. Four key elements were of

Although actual nights are not a part of today s society, we have modern day knights in the form
of soldiers. In a sense, the values of the U.S army trace back to the Age of Chivalry, and many of
their values coincide with such. For example, the Army values loyalty just as knights did.
Soldiers are expected to be true to the U.S Constitution and fellow soldiers. They wear a uniform
to express this loyalty. They also value duty, which is fulfilling your obligations and
accomplishing a multitude of objectives with a team. Respect is also esteemed in the Army.
Soldiers pledge to treat others with dignity and respect while expecting others to do the same.

But, what people in such relationships fail to realise until it is too late is the downside to this sort
of relationship, not only for the dominated , but also for the dominating , as such an obsession
with ruling over another eventually led the Duke to murder his wife. Though most people would
not have taken as drastic a measure as the Duke, the poet probably uses such a negatively powerful
result to emphasize on the harmful aspects of such a relationship. Also, this poem follows a strict
rhyme scheme and has a conversational rhythm. It is written in iambic pentameter, which probably
conveys the conflict within himself between what he says and what he really is a murderer!
Furthermore, this sort of communion does not hold many positive aspects for the partner who lets
himself/herself be controlled by the other either. In La Belle Dame Sans Merci , the knight says,
And that is why I sojourn here/Alone and palely loitering/Though the sedge has wither d from the

type of love and the sad, lonely image (from winter) is used to create a greater impact on the reader.

means that many new types and techniques of art were found during the Renaissanceperiod as the
Renaissance artists had so much passion for art. They used paintings and drawings to record

This is really important because before, the human society was focused more on the religious
way of life. Churches had more influence on us but because of the rise of the Renaissance during
its time period, the people had a lot more focus on the human side of life, they had a different
view of the world in a different perspective. The reason why humanism plays a big part of our
society today is because it had a philosophy that humans should be acclaimed for their
achievements, according to Importance of Humanism, (http://world history.nmhblogs.org/2012/11
/18/the importance of humanism/). If there were no humanism, our world would be totally
different. The church would have kept its power and the influence it had on us humans and it
would be able to shape people s minds. We also would not have great art and literature, like
paintings from Leonardo Da Vinci. We all have taken great jump and improvement in our
advancements in technology, individualism and science. So without humanism, the world we are
living in would different from the world we are living in now. I think that had impacts in art
because people back in the Renaissance thought that the human body was a beautiful creation of the
gods. After that, many artists began to closely study the anatomy in order to portrait the beauty of
the body properly (naturalism). The difference between the middle ages and the renaissance art is
that during the middle ages, as we all know artists during that time didn t really focus on realism
which means that the paints of humans weren t very realistic and accurate. Unlike the renaissance
art, artists even began to study the human bodies to accurately portrait them. For my painting, I

defined as all characteristics and experiences that defined each employee as individuals, but it can
also be misunderstood as discriminationagainst employees. Diversity can include race, ethnicity,

companies do not know that. A diverse workplace targets to create an inclusive culture that values

organizations to practice discrimination in the workplace. Based on race, ethnicity, sex, religion,

Osborne wrote the play to express what it felt like to live in England during the 1950s. In the
earlier times, very less attention was given to literature that reflected the treatment and living
circumstances experienced by the lower class people. John Osborne was one of the leading
literary figures of the Angry Young Men movement . As the Angry Young Men movement
began to popularize these themes, the acceptance of related issues became more and more
widespread. Osborne depicted these issues within his play through the eyes of his protagonist,
Jimmy. Throughout the play, Jimmy was seeing the wrong people go hungry, the wrong people
be loved, the wrong people dying . Post world war, the quality of life in England for lower class
citizens was extremely poor; Osborne used this theme to demonstrate how the state of Britain was
guilty of neglect towards those that needed assistance the most. In the play there are comparisons
of educated people with savages, it also highlights the major difference between classes. Alison

as weight over and above what is required or allowed. (Meriam Webster) Following the definition
of obese meaning, very fat: fat in a way that is unhealthy. (Meriam Webster) According to the article
1 in 3 children are either overweight or obese. There have been many studies conducted to get to the
conclusions that this article covers. When the youth participate in

49. The Triple Threat Of Ford Motor Company Engineering Design...
Introduction We conducted our design review on Friday, May 13, 2016 with our professors and
the other teams from our DTC section in Room G205 of the Ford Motor Company Engineering
Design Center at 2:30 P.M. We presented the problem we were tasked with solving, our client s
and user s needs, and our mock up design, the Triple Threat . The Triple Threat is a system that
places a structure that holds three rolls of netting, one on the top and one along each side, next
to a row of up 20 vehicles (see figure 32, and figure 33 on the following page). The netting is then
deployed by rolling a structure that is attached to the ends of the netting over the row of
vehicles. In addition to asking for general feedback, we asked those in attendance to address the
issues of the potential stability of our product along with the problem of hailstones piling atop
the netting. Figure 32: Triple Threat Mock up Not Deployed Figure 33: Triple Threat Mock up

51. Defining Love In Sir Thomas Wyatt And Samuel Daniels
Sir Thomas Wyatt and Samuel Daniels have sonnets in which the speaker is attempting to define
love. With one speaker stating his daily life and the other expressing the feeling through paradoxes,
both ultimately end up with poems that are not conventionally good love poems. I allege that the
reason they cannot effectively define loveis that they do not truly understand it because their own
egos blind them from it. The scope of both sonnets is restricted to simply the speakers focus and
they spend all fourteen lines saying things of little consequence. Rather than getting across the point
that they are in love, they are showing their disillusionment in regards to what love is because they
are so self centered and thus inadept at writing poetry. I aim to reveal that these sonnets reveal more
about the speakers than about love through their choice of rhyme scheme, rhetorical devices, meter,
and repetition.
The speakers use different rhyme schemes. I find no peace is a Petrarchan sonnet and If this be love
is a Shakespearean sonnet. While not actually flouting the conventional patterns, the speakers use
diction that hardly allows the sonnets to be easily identified by their rhyme schemes. In the first
and fourth lines of I find no peace, for example, the speaker seems to rhyme done with on (Wyatt
ll. 1, 4). Instead of altering the word choice to better fit the Petrarchan rhyme scheme, the speaker
writes in the only diction he can think of. Wyatt s speaker is so focused on himself and his
paradoxical experience of love that he fails to create an effective sonnet.
We see a similar disregard for the standard form by Daniel s speaker. The rhyme scheme of a
Shakespearean sonnet is there, though not obviously with the speaker attempting to rhyme
thoughts and notes in the last quatrain (Daniel ll. 9, 11). I believe the weakness in the overall
rhyme scheme implies that the speaker is careless of tradition. This loose rhyming shows a lack of
regard for the form the speaker is attempting to emulate, further emphasizing the possibility that his
goal has not been to define love but to prove to others, and himself, that he is in love.
Wyatt s speaker describes love primarily by using paradoxes. However, he

52. The Cowboys By Mark Rydell
The western film The Cowboys directed by Mark Rydell, which stars John Wayne as the main
character Wil Andersen, who is a stiff necked rancher in Montana, stuck with working with a
bunch of inexperienced boys. Wil Andersen is faced with a difficult situation when all of the
ranch hands get involved in the local gold rush and he has no more workers. Andersen s friend
Anse will get the idea of having the local schoolboys help him on the drive, but Andersen is not
sold on the idea and is still concerned and worried about the drive. The next day the boys from
the school will show up at Andersen s ranch ready to help. Andersen is not fond of wasting
daylight and will test the boys by having them ride on the back of a wild horse he is trying to
break. The boys, are lead by the oldest Slim Honeycutt, who will surprise Andersen by being able
to staying on. Cimarron , a young lonely Mexican boy, will come in and ride the horse
successfully but will get into a fight with Slim. Andersen breaks up the fight and turns Cimarron
away. The boys have a lot of learning yet that they need to do from Andersen. Andersen will be
faced with another problem when three men ride in asking for work. The three men lie to
Andersen and this does not go over well with him and he refuses to hire the three. Shortly after
this the cook Jeb Nightlinger shows up and now Andersen has a full crew to drive the cattle. They
will start the drive and the boys will soon become tired and sore from the strains of

53. Effects Of Erosion Control On The Environment
Erosion control
Before any new construction begins in the United States the state or local municipality typically
requires an environmental impact statement, plan for erosion control, inspections and any other
methods needed to protect the environment from chemicals used, debris, and other waste which
might seep into the groundwater or land and pollute those important natural resources. Our project
is building in Huntsville, Alabama. We plan to follow advice for Low Impact Development, will
use for meeting civil standards for erosion control, such as water purity for example, underground
pipes for sewage. We also plan to attend any soil and water seminars offered before building begins
to learn as much as possible about any new developments in environmental codes.
We will begin to use autocad software to gain a clear picture of the building and the surrounding
area to help see possible sites where erosion might be a problem. The area in which the building
will be located is subject to erosion from wind, rain, and water, which is the primary source of
erosion in Alabama. Therefore, protection from water erosion caused by rains will be one of our
primary concerns. The autocad software will tell us the area we need to protect in it entirely, and
we will use a black silt fence for his purpose. Black silk fence comes in rolls of hundreds of feet,
and if that isn t enough connectors are available to connect additional silt fence.
