Goal Beliefs
Goal Beliefs Extreme sports may seem like a hard thing to conquer, having all of the risks and
criticism involved upon interaction of the sport. Although, there are many sayings that contradict on
giving up while harsh conditions appear before you. One of those is from Rabindranath Tagore, and
states "You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water." This might mean that to
obtain a goal, you can not stand there and not do anything, it has to be worked for. While this quote
still has many other different meanings, extreme sports may have many hard obstacles and it is
better to charge straight forward into them while solving them along the way. Some people may say
that staring at something and waiting may help you obtain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In spite of their mindset, Everyone has a goal when they are bestowed upon a life during birth, but
they might have lost it due to "standing and staring" for too long. They may have been thinking
about their goal and life too much and have come to the point that they have no meaning and that
their everyday actions to get to their dream are just fruitless tasks. Therefore, many people do not
realize that they have achieved their goal until they stumble across it. As Medical News Today
covered in their research article, "Extreme Sports Not About Risk–Taking: Study", they support their
claim when Dr. Brymer said " 'They also said they felt a sense of relaxation and freedom, not in the
socio–cultural sense but in the sense that they were so focused and aware, it was like clearing the
mind in meditation' " (Medical News Today, 8). What Dr. Brymer talked about was that people

goals are noticeable, because you only express it in your mood without realizing it. This shows us
that if you do not do anything to achieve your goal, you might not stumble along the way and find a
shortcut to the goal or another goal that is hidden from

My Generation Too Disconnected From Our Generation
"Poor Generation Z. The oldest members of this cohort are barely 18 and they're already getting a
bad rap. Media and market research companies have labeled them "screen addicts" with the attention
span of a gnat" (Finch 2015). Personally, I think that my generation, also known as Generation Z, is
different from the past generations. Just growing up I have seen drastic changes in technology and
social media. Do these changes make my generation standout from the others? Has these changes
affected my generation in a good or bad way? We all know how the older generations would answer
that question, then they would ramble on and on about how whenever they needed some information
they must research it the "old fashion way" and could not look it up by just pulling their smart
phones out of their pockets. Are they right? Do we spend too much time in our lives focusing on the
technology around us? Is my generation too disconnected from the real world? If we are it is only
going to get worse for future generations. Generation X (1961–1981) is the generation that my
parents were born into and is the generation that I think has had the most influence on the people in
my generation because they were the people that raised us. I recently asked my mom, who is part of
Gen X, "what was technology like growing up?" Although she obviously did not grow up with the
same kind of technology that I did, she said people were still consumed with their Walkman's,

The Autobiography Of Malcolm X
Do something about it. Everyone has problems from struggles in life. Malcolm X told his life story
of how he overcame in his autobiography simply called The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to
Alex Haley. His life changed the world historically, socially, and especially politically by taking a
stand against racism of all kinds which still exists in today's "modern" standards. Using his personal
life experience with racism towards African–Americans, Malcolm spreads the word on equality for
all with a realistic tone that inspires trust in him. Malcolm X reaches all kinds of people in an effort
to voice his thoughts on equality for all using rhetorical and persuasive techniques for a more
effective message. From the beginning, the story Malcolm X tells uses a tone of realism and
relatability to establish a dominant impression upon the reader's mind. An example of this tone is
when Malcolm, at a young age, accepts his ultimate fate that had just befallen his father. Malcolm
tells Alex that "It has always been my belief that I, too, will die by violence. I have done all that I
can to be prepared" (4). The definitiveness he says this with is not an attempt at making readers feel
empathy for him, but to appeal to logic by presenting this as a fact of the kind of world he lives in.
When Malcolm chooses to state "die by violence" (4) instead of describing what kind of violence or
with more emotion, he gets the reader past the emotional aspect of his belief with this stolid diction

The Generational Differences Between The Generation X And...
This paper inquires about the generational differences between the Generation X (1961–1981) and
Generation Y (1981–2001). After reviewing several articles and identifying the important
information, it has been summed up in one paper. It includes, growing up in different eras and how
they compare and contrast. As well as, what it was like to learn in those era's, meaning mostly how
has technology advanced our learning programs and teaching techniques. The reader will also find
how it is to work with the different generations of people, more importantly their weaknesses and
strengths. How work hours have shifted from 13–14 hour days and decreased all the way to 7–8
hour days. They do seem to balance each other out being the Gen Y, also known as Millennials or
Digital Natives, are capable of multitasking throughout their shifts due to the technology available.
Times are definitely changing and it is time to jump on board if you would like to sail smoothly.
Difference in learning traits between Gen X on and Gen Y
Generation X and Generation Y being not that different in age are made of very different
complexities. Generation X born between the years of 1960 and 1980, and Generation Y otherwise
known as the millennials were born between 1981 and 2001. It has been a challenge for teachers to
adapt to new learning techniques, Generation X was raised in a higher work ethic environment,
whereas, Gen Y grew up with technology and had endless amounts of information at the touch of a

Final Frontline: Brand Analysis
FRONTLINE® brand products are used to kill fleas, ticks, and lice that harbor themselves in
household pets such as cats and dogs. These common pests are easily contracted from other pets or
the outside environment and can cause a range of ailments from hair loss, sores, and scabs to
anemia, allergies, and other skin diseases. In the U.S., there are nearly 79.5 million households that
own either a cat or dog; 30.4% being cats and another 36.5% owning dogs (AVMA.org, 2012). With
these substantial numbers of household pets, fleas and tick infestations are a constant threat and
reoccurring problem for many pet owners. In 2016, over–the–counter medication, supplies, and

Superb Meteor Quotes
Jack London once stated "I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow,
than a sleepy and permanent planet." Through this quote London is declaring that he would rather
live a life full of excitement over a life that is predictable. I agree with this quote because you only
get to experience things in your life once, so I believe it is best to live life as full as possible. The
more fun and excitement you have with your life will hopefully help you grow as a person, and be
ready to face new challenges. This relates to extreme sports athletes because almost everyone would
rather live an exciting life over a dull and boring one.
The main question usually associated with extreme sports is: why do the athletes do the sport ...

This may be the case because people might feel unsafe when trying to be different and exciting, so
they would rather play life on the safe side. In Extreme Sports Not About Risk–taking: Study, Dr.
Brymer notes that people who participate in extreme sports try to be prepared so they can decrease
their risk of injury. This shows that people don't want to do extreme sports because of the risk of
injury involved with such a dangerous sport. Although this is a valid reason I still believe that people
would rather be the more exciting version of themselves. Extreme sports allows people to live up to
those standards and let people live life to their greatest

Letter To Malcolm X's Motivation
Growing up in a small town as a kid you always have big dreams that seem impossible. There is
really no one around to encourage you. Everyone always has something negative to say. Since they
didn't make out they make you believe you can`t. Until this one thing comes around that motivates
you and you feel like you can be whatever you want to be.Malcolm X found his motivation locked
up in a jail cell, he had hope, and he never gave up. The Malcolm X section gives me a feeling of
hope. The reason I get this feeling is because he was ambitious and wanted to improve his writing
skills. To have hope is to believe that whatever you're aiming for can happen. He was motivated by
someone else knowledge. He wanted to be able to write a good letter.

Review: To Build A Fire By Jack London
"The proper function of man is to live, not exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I
shall use my time." said Jack London, a man known for his writings like "To Build a Fire" which is
about how precious life is and how you should listen to people when they say something is a bad
idea, but he sees his life differently. Trying to take life easy isn't living, you're not making an impact,
and for Jack London he wants to take every second to do something not just sit and slowly die.
Although extreme sports have many risks and you can die if it goes wrong, there's also a chance that
you can feel the most alive. I believe that is what living is, if you don't try something that people say

people how insane they are by living on the safe side because the risks can be fatal but if you

Authentic Leadership for Age Diversity
Authentic Leadership for Age Diversity In the article "Bridging the Gap Between Gen X and Gen Y:
Lessons From Authentic Leadership," the authors highlight the issues of age diversity with a specific
focus on issues between Generation X and Generation Y in the United States. They state that there
are several attitudes, preferences, and characteristics that define each generation and create a fertile
ground for organizational conflict. They argue that the solution for leaders with age diversity
dilemmas can be found in the area of authentic leadership. The authentic leadership model consists
of four key components which can help overcome some of the leadership challenges that result due
to the differences in both generations. The article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are more proficient at multi–tasking, and their preferences for communication with their
coworkers and peers are significantly different and more technology dependent. They also noted that
Generation Y individuals are less loyal to their employers than previous generations. Generation Y
has strong aspirations for career growth and success. They feel that they must switch positions in
order to realize their career aspirations and goals. Their loyalty is contingent upon their ability to
balance their work and their life's goals (Mhatre, 2011). In "Winning the Generation Game" they
emphasize the importance of multitasking and the use of technology to Generation Y individuals.
Generation Y's unwillingness to hang around if they do not get what they want is also mentioned in
support of the view that Generation Y individuals are less loyal to their employers than previous
generations (Winning the Generation Game, 2013). With the differences between the two
generations it was surprising to see the suggestion that one leadership model could be the solution
for both. Authentic leadership is described as a pattern of transparent and ethical leader behavior that
encourages openness in sharing information needed to make decisions while accepting followers'
outputs. Authentic leaders can foster a culture of transparency by modeling and

The Importance Of The English Language
Many Americans due to the fact that they have been in America they believe that the English
language is easier to master than another language. Moreover, U.S college students believes that
since they speak English frequently throughout the day they have mastered the English language.
However, this may sound like common sense but it not true. Studies "from the U.S Department of
Education shows that many high school seniors are graduating unable to read at grade level and one
in four cannot read at even the most basic level" (abcnews.go.com). These studies completely refute
the theory that mastering the skills of English is unnecessary. Malcolm X who "was one of the most
articulate and powerful leaders of black America during the 1960s" even struggled with the English
language (palomar.edu). In addition to that, he was born in America too. Evidence to the previous
claim is in "Learning to Read," where Malcom X said it himself saying, "Trying to write simple
English, I not only wasn't articulate, I wasn't even functional." Malcom X did not let that stop him.
He performs some effective techniques in his pursuit of enhancement that college students emulate
if they want to improve. Practicing, Reading, and learning new words are three effective techniques
that college students should use to reach their mastery level of the English language. Many people
may have heard the hackneyed quote that says, "Practice makes perfect." Well, Malcom X is a living
testimony of that. This

Guts, Glory, Greatness: Inspiring Stories
The inspiring story turned motion picture depicts the story of a high school women's basketball
coach that gets hired as the coach at Texas Western where Coach Don Haskins recruits seven
African–American players based on their skill level not the pigment of their skin. Throughout the
movie Glory Road Coach Don Haskins', men's basketball coach at Texas Western, tone changes
from being a critic to a supporting coach with a team that was of mixed races. Coach Haskins shows
character traits of a few great people from the civil rights era including Gandhi, Martin Luther King
Jr., and Maya Angelou. Although Haskins is like some great contributors during the Civil Rights
Movement time that doesn't mean that he is like all great persons because the Texas Western
basketball coach is not like Malcolm X because he does not chose to use violence even when
provoked unlike Malcolm X who has no problem with violence being used to achieve a common
goal.
Although many people may believe that Martin Luther King Jr.'s non–violent leadership style is not
as effective as a violent leadership style, but King accomplished numerous things in relationship to
the Civil Rights Movement. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted for there to be a day that it didn't matter
the color of one's skin but what was on the inside. "I have a dream that one day that my four little
children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by

In the wide world of sports, teams will try and find a way to better market themselves in the nation
to make more revenue. There are many ways to market your team but in the newer generation teams
have been taking a different approach. Most teams will advertise there big sports star in trying to
have people buy there gear, buy tickets, or simply support their team. But the most effective way to
market your team is getting to the kids first. In advertising for a younger generation, you will tie the

As teams use youth marketing to make their organization grow, they must realize it's important to
know the most appropriate time to deliver certain messages. Marketers must understand that
marketing to a seven year old must be different than marketing to a ten year old. For example, the
NFL has been working in the past few months to sharpen their focus. They have really focused on
the eleven to fourteen year old group. Statistics show that the time in the life cycle when kids are
making decisions about participating in football and long–lasting decisions about sports
consumption and viewership.
Many teams have decided that the best way to create interest among kids and teenagers is to market
to their parents, using as a hook the sporting event as the ideal family outing. Team's youth target the
kids indirectly through their parents. Using print ads in regional editions of family and parenting
magazines, are just some of the ways that Anaheim Angels Robert Alvarado, director of marketing

Sports And Sports Essay
I consider that have a good physical and mental health is very important especially if it is about
children. Sports or physical activities help us a lot to be healthy. When children or adults perform a
sport or physical activity, their body changes and they feel healthier. This also helps with mood
because when someone does physical activity or sports, he or she feels happy. Perform a sport or
physical activity has many benefits for health, but what would happen if sports are not good for
health and they could put our lives at risk? Could this really happen? Unfortunately, yes. Thousands
of questions come in my head to understand how sports can harm adults and children. Everyone
knows that sports are good for adults and children health. How can sports harm us? All this is true
because sports are so good for health that even doctors recommend them to avoid diseases and
overweight. On the other hand, some sports can harm adults and children physically and mentally
too. For example, extreme sports and football are considered dangerous for adults, but they are more
dangerous for children. Everyone knows that adults can make their own decisions about what is
good or bad for them, but children are guided by their parent's decisions. The question is, do parents
consider that extreme sports and football are good for their children? Would they allow their
children to do these sports? Football and extreme sports are dangerous for children because they can

An example of this is in The Autobiography of Malcolm X where Malcolm says "but still the image
of him that made me proudest was his crusading and militant campaigning with words of Marcus
Garvey." (9). Malcolm's father leaving him was very influential because he never had that guidance
that a father gives his children, but more importantly that his father was killed by the white Black
Legion. The Black Legion was a hateful group much like the Ku Klux Klan, but they wore black
robes instead of white robes. The killing of his father by the Black Legion stood in Malcolm's head
as he gets older and affects the way he thinks of white people. The fact that the insurance company
would not give his mother the money that she deserved because they found his father on the
streetcar tracks. So he obviously bashed himself in the head and stumbled over to the tracks to
commit suicide. This was just another reason in Malcolm's head why the white people are the devil.
The way that his father was laid half dead on the streetcar tracks by white people who just let him
suffer half dead. The event of his father's death just put more and more aggression towards white
people in Malcolm's life. One of the most important events that shaped Malcolm's life was when Mr.

Every author has a different writing style in comparison. They convey their messages in multiple
ways; using different tones to evoke certain moods on their readers. Some authors use a few
different ways to catch their audiences attention; persuading them using logic, ethics and emotion.
In the excerpt "Learning to Read" by Malcolm X, he uses logic and emotion to persuade his
audience. By using anger to evoke remorse in his readers. Malcolm X references historical events to
convey his message. Malcolm X has a vast audience in this writing. He did not write for one

Why Do Extreme Sports Risk Takers?
Have you ever wondered if people who do extreme sports are risk takers? In "Extreme Sports Not
About Risk Taking" (July, 13 2009) by Medical New Today, Dr. Brymer was a Queensland
University of Technology researcher (people who establishes research partnerships between
academia, industry, government and community actors), a lecturer from the School of Human
Movement Studies in the Faculty of Health and has been researching whether the element of risk
was an important factor among the people who do extreme sports. People who do extreme sports are
not risk–takers because they do extreme sports for a different reason. "You can't cross the sea merely
by standing and staring at the water," by Rabindranath Tagore. Rabindranath's quote means

Medical Benefits Outweigh The Consequences Of Extreme Sports
When most people think of extreme sports, they think of adrenaline junkies and risk takers, and this
is simply not the case. While most people against extreme sports turn a blind eye to the medical
benefits and the stereotypes put on participants, good things can come out of these activities. These
gains outweigh the consequences, which makes extreme sports worthwhile. From an outside
perspective it may seem that medically concerned, extreme sports would be frowned upon, but in
fact, the opposite is true. John Donovan agrees, while speaking on behalf of Eric Brymer, an author
of books about sport psychology, that even though extreme sports may cause many injuries and
expensive hospital bills, psychologically speaking, they can "facilitate more

Star Wars X-Wing Game Analysis
Star Wars X–Wing is a player versus player dogfighting board game set in the Star Wars universe.
The board game acts as a large scale fleet battle sandbox in which players can place as many ships
as they want on an infinite battlefield. Before you begin you assemble a fleet of either Imperial or
Rebellion ships. These ships can be customized with multiple different pilot cards with their own
unique weapons and upgrades. Once you begin you'll be given your pilot card and your movement
dial. This dial gives you all your movement options when in combat. These dials and their option
vary heavily depending on what ship you have selected, for example a fast and nimble tie fighter can
outrun a sluggish x–wing and the dial reflects that with a speed ... Show more content on

The models and cards are meticulously detailed and movie authentic (Obviously catering to the
hardcore audience). The game when I first played it was quite overwhelming to begin with. The
amount of reading and research I had to do with my group was quite frustrating, the manual was
long and disorganized with large blocks of intimidating text making it very hard to learn the game to
begin with. But, once we prevailed through the initial mishaps the game was a blast. Finally we
learnt the meaning of the symbols and numbers and the game became much easier the understand.
In my first game I found myself on the winning end of a two versus one dogfight and I found myself
immersed in the game and it's dogfighting mechanics. I felt like a true admiral, barking orders to my
men to form complex formations or draw fire from incoming ships. In my experiences with the
game however I found that battles were mostly decided by luck and randomness as opposed to
actual skill. The dice rolling mechanics took me out of the game a little, watching as my elite
imperial pilots missed point blank shots was frustrating to say the least, but it was just apart of the

Martin Luther King's Theory Of Nonviolent Protest
It's shown in the statistics, Martin Luther King was more successful due to his theory of nonviolent
protest, which were more effective than violent ones which Malcolm used. When there is violence
involved and possible death of innocent people, then the protest seem to be more terrorizing than a
protest. Nonviolence protest allows for there to be no bloodshed and just peace between the groups.
This also allows for people to like the nonviolent protesters more than the violent ones because no
one is getting hurt from it. Martin Luther King Junior's main method of being successful was his
nonviolence strategy. King used the tactic he used in Montgomery, Alabama during his Montgomery

was because of his violent protest theory. King's nonviolent protesting and his famous speech known
as the "I Have A Dream" speech had the most effect on the government on taking action in giving
black people their rights and freedom. The Civil Rights Acts made it illegal for discrimination in the
workplace, and banned segregation in public areas. Also, one of the acts made it illegal to
discriminate against people of color, sex, or religion by refusing to sell or the rental of property.
Martin's bus boycott of Montgomery was a successful protest and influenced others in the later
years. Two men from the Olympic games known as Tommie Smith and John Carlos took 1st and 3rd

unity peacefully. They were considered heros but they were removed from the games permanently.

How Did The British Industrial Revolution Mountaineering
Mountaineering, which had never been witnessed by the world, became considered a new sport
during the British Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was a time period when great
amounts of change swept across the western world. During the Industrial Revolution, the British
created and revolutionized the sport of mountaineering. The development of Alpinism during the
time period created a sense of adventure and human spirit which branched off to new sports and
adventurous activities.
Before the Industrial Revolution, mountaineering was not yet classified as a sport. The only
climbing and trekking that was done on such high peaks was strictly related to scientific research.
Mountains once posed a danger and therefore, people felt that there was no reason to be near them,

class members were alpinists, but that all of them were members of the middle class" (Koen). The
working class did not try the sport of climbing because they did not have the money nor the time.
The U.K.'s middle class climbers flocked to the intimidating mountains of the European Alps and
started to scale these mountains. At the time, climbing techniques were just beginning to be formed
so there were not any set rules or safety measures. Before the sport flourished, scientists climbed
mountains and usually set up large ladders to make their way up different sections of the
mountainside. It was not until the Industrial Revolution that climbing specific techniques and

Extreme Sports Not About Risk Taking Essay
The extreme sports world is very unique, with a wide variety of sports to choose from and risks that

Extreme Sports Not About Risk Taking Study
A wise person once said, "The proper function of man is to live, not exist. I shall not waste my days
trying to prolong them. I shall use my time." This quote explains that we should not waste our time
and actually do something worth living for. That we should use the time we have to do or become
something, instead of wasting it. We should use this in our life just like how extreme sports athletes
did. The only difference is that their path is riskier than ours because they do many dangerous
activities such as Base–Jumping, Cave–Diving, and BMX. Extreme sports are a good idea because
you get to be in the moment and feel the rush, but you should take some precautions because it can
be very dangerous.
One reason why extreme sports should be participated in is because many people find their

the state of the movement after the assassination of President Kennedy and after several events

"In this present administration they have in the House of Representatives, 257 Democrats to only

occurred and how it just goes to show how he believes what they have been doing is not working.
The next part of his speech is where he goes into how they need to take matters into their own hands
in a new fashion. "This is pitiful. But it's not pitiful for us any longer; it's actually pitiful for the
white man, because soon now, as the Negro awakens a little more and sees the vise that he's in, see
the bag that he's in, sees the real game that he's in, then the Negro's going to develop a new tactic...."
Here, he is saying that even though it does not seem they have many steps in the right direction,
sooner or later they're going to set out with a new plan due to the inactive white man and perhaps
changing their perspective of an upstander in the

The primary goal of the Rogerian Argument is to give the reader an opportunity to form his or her
opinion based on the facts that will be presented. In the paper Helmets: Life or Liberty the author

start to notice the adverse side effects. In the introduction paragraph, the author just talks about why
the sport is so likable. The author didn't have basic facts on snowboarding and snow skiing. The
author stated why people love playing the game because "give a unique sense of freedom and
satisfaction that is unlike any other sport can offer" (Snow Boarder pg.1). In the Rogerian Argument,

debating the adverse side effect and different incidents that happen to people not wearing the
hamlets. By talking about the unwanted side effect an example of an event in the sport, this gave the
reader to think not wearing a helmet is wrong. The conclusion paragraph fails to make a
compromise between the two issue in the paper. The last part discusses why people should start to
wear a helmet because it can save life's and companies are beginning to make them more
comfortable and not so cumbersome to the rider. This paper did a poor job with the Rogerian

What Is Extreme Sports Essay
Your life is always at risk. Eating, sleeping, playing everything you do has a risk to it, there isn't that
much difference between extreme sports and your everyday life.
Is extreme sports a healthy decision or a selfish one. I say that most extreme sports are healthy,
however, a few extreme sports are selfish. However, life is always a risk, so the argument for
enjoying life to the maximum doing extreme sports and keeping healthy has benefits that outweigh
the fear of what might happen or the concern about selfishness.
An extreme sport is when someone risks his or her life for the pleasure, or momentary thrill of just
having fun, or getting paid for taking part in the a death defying sport.
I believe that there are many extreme sports that are healthy challenging such as mountain climbing.
On the other hand, I also believe that there are extreme sports like, Boxing, Bull Fighting, Sky
Diving ; all three sports provide a thrilling experience for the person taking part in the sport. On the
other hand the risk of life, or great injury is a constant reality.
When a person is asked to put his life on the line for the pleasure of others, I believe that is very ...

downsides there are , remains in control of the sport because he or she can at anytime stop the game.
Knowing the dangers involved anyways, the boxer continues to take part in the sport because of
loving the sport. In this way, someone who does not like the sport can critique the player for being
selfish. The boxer can argue with this by saying that when good training is part of the boxers' life,
learning good defense helps minimize the dangers. So, in that way that in one extreme sport that is
not selfish or at least the levels of selfishness are

Under Armour 's Vision Statement Essay
Introduction Under Armour was created in 1996 by Kevin Plank, which first developed breathable,
wicking materials to replace sweaty cotton found in the shirts worn under football pads. The brand
was initially built on a tough–guy and a football image. Under Armour 's first major sale came,
when an equipment manager from Georgia Tech requested 10 shirts from Plank. This deal opened
the door to a contract with Arizona State University, North Carolina State and other Division I
football teams. With positive reviews from players, word began to spread and orders began to
increase (wikipedia.org). Under Armour has made a big name for its self since that time, and it has
risen to the number 2 spot in the U.S. sportswear market (darden.virginia.edu). Extreme Sports
Under Armour, has been true to its vision statement, to empower athletes everywhere, and also its
mission statement, to make all athletes better through passion, design, and the relentless pursuit of
innovation (uabiz.com). Under Armour following its vision and mission statement, can incur a great
increase in revenue by expanding its market reach to a somewhat over looked sport called extreme
sports (also referred to as action sports and adventurous sports). The extreme sports industry has
turned into a multi–billion dollar industry and have activities perceived as having a high level of
inherent danger. These activities often involve speed, height, a high level of physical exertion, and
highly specialized gear. The

Malcolm X's Vocabulary
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you will learn, the places

improve his vocabulary in which he could express his thoughts, feelings, hopes, fears, likes, and
dislikes. Therefore I also learn to improve my lifestyle and to motivate others to learn. Learning is
important because it is the foundation of life. Learning benefits people socially, personally and helps
others succeed in life. Education is the most important thing that a person can pursue. We often

Malcolm X learned every word in the dictionary because of his lack of expressing how he felt in his
letters. This indicate that although Malcolm X acquired a homemade education to help himself, this
also shows that from his learning he helped others improve their lives through his effort to teach
people self–control. His teachings are still being examined all over the world and his legacy lives
on. Considering from what he have learned, he try to imply it by helping others fight for freedom as
he mentioned how he wrote to the Mayor of Boston, to the Government of Massachusetts, and to
Harry S. Truman. Furthermore going on and saying that, "I handscratched to them how the white
man's society was responsible for the black man's condition in this wilderness of North America"
(X, 2013, p. 68). Although Malcolm X learned to improve himself and help others improve their
lives, either through his journey or by his accomplishment. Similar to Malcolm X, people see me as
mentor to them either through my overcoming of adversity or just through hard work and
motivation. For instance, during my graduation I received numerous of Grad Cards and letters.

The Lost Generation In The Lost Generation
Individuals of Generation X – those born between 1963 and 1981– have seen the world around them
change in a variety of ways during their lifetime, from the fall of the Soviet Union to the dawn of
the personal computer. Some of these advancements directly affected their lives, while others
influenced their attitudes, opinions, and outlooks. Generation X should not be reflected as the lost
generation, but the generation that introduced technology embraced innovation and observed
tragedies that implanted fear across the entire nation.
I remember sitting in my fifth–grade history class watching the live broadcast of the Challenger
liftoff and the devastating explosion claiming the lives of seven astronauts. We had previously
discussed the importance of the mission as teacher, Christa McAuliffe, earned her spot on the
mission for NASA's program "Teachers in Space" (History.com, 2010). I sat there trying to process
and understand what happened and we were not provided an explanation, it was more confusing
than shocking, Looking back if this happened today, I suspect schools would have dismissed for the
remainder of the day. At this time, it was an undeniably historical event for my generation. It was
supposed to be a moment of joy but quickly turned into one of the most defining tragedies of this
decade. This became the first national trauma for children, and America struggled with providing an
appropriate explanation for all the children who witness the horrific event on

Goal Beliefs

  • 1. Goal Beliefs Goal Beliefs Extreme sports may seem like a hard thing to conquer, having all of the risks and criticism involved upon interaction of the sport. Although, there are many sayings that contradict on giving up while harsh conditions appear before you. One of those is from Rabindranath Tagore, and states "You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water." This might mean that to obtain a goal, you can not stand there and not do anything, it has to be worked for. While this quote still has many other different meanings, extreme sports may have many hard obstacles and it is better to charge straight forward into them while solving them along the way. Some people may say that staring at something and waiting may help you obtain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In spite of their mindset, Everyone has a goal when they are bestowed upon a life during birth, but they might have lost it due to "standing and staring" for too long. They may have been thinking about their goal and life too much and have come to the point that they have no meaning and that their everyday actions to get to their dream are just fruitless tasks. Therefore, many people do not realize that they have achieved their goal until they stumble across it. As Medical News Today covered in their research article, "Extreme Sports Not About Risk–Taking: Study", they support their claim when Dr. Brymer said " 'They also said they felt a sense of relaxation and freedom, not in the socio–cultural sense but in the sense that they were so focused and aware, it was like clearing the mind in meditation' " (Medical News Today, 8). What Dr. Brymer talked about was that people doing extreme sports which gave them a sense that made them happiness, showing us that not all goals are noticeable, because you only express it in your mood without realizing it. This shows us that if you do not do anything to achieve your goal, you might not stumble along the way and find a shortcut to the goal or another goal that is hidden from ... • 5. My Generation Too Disconnected From Our Generation "Poor Generation Z. The oldest members of this cohort are barely 18 and they're already getting a bad rap. Media and market research companies have labeled them "screen addicts" with the attention span of a gnat" (Finch 2015). Personally, I think that my generation, also known as Generation Z, is different from the past generations. Just growing up I have seen drastic changes in technology and social media. Do these changes make my generation standout from the others? Has these changes affected my generation in a good or bad way? We all know how the older generations would answer that question, then they would ramble on and on about how whenever they needed some information they must research it the "old fashion way" and could not look it up by just pulling their smart phones out of their pockets. Are they right? Do we spend too much time in our lives focusing on the technology around us? Is my generation too disconnected from the real world? If we are it is only going to get worse for future generations. Generation X (1961–1981) is the generation that my parents were born into and is the generation that I think has had the most influence on the people in my generation because they were the people that raised us. I recently asked my mom, who is part of Gen X, "what was technology like growing up?" Although she obviously did not grow up with the same kind of technology that I did, she said people were still consumed with their Walkman's, televisions, and handheld video ... • 9. The Autobiography Of Malcolm X Do something about it. Everyone has problems from struggles in life. Malcolm X told his life story of how he overcame in his autobiography simply called The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley. His life changed the world historically, socially, and especially politically by taking a stand against racism of all kinds which still exists in today's "modern" standards. Using his personal life experience with racism towards African–Americans, Malcolm spreads the word on equality for all with a realistic tone that inspires trust in him. Malcolm X reaches all kinds of people in an effort to voice his thoughts on equality for all using rhetorical and persuasive techniques for a more effective message. From the beginning, the story Malcolm X tells uses a tone of realism and relatability to establish a dominant impression upon the reader's mind. An example of this tone is when Malcolm, at a young age, accepts his ultimate fate that had just befallen his father. Malcolm tells Alex that "It has always been my belief that I, too, will die by violence. I have done all that I can to be prepared" (4). The definitiveness he says this with is not an attempt at making readers feel empathy for him, but to appeal to logic by presenting this as a fact of the kind of world he lives in. When Malcolm chooses to state "die by violence" (4) instead of describing what kind of violence or with more emotion, he gets the reader past the emotional aspect of his belief with this stolid diction ... • 13. The Generational Differences Between The Generation X And... This paper inquires about the generational differences between the Generation X (1961–1981) and Generation Y (1981–2001). After reviewing several articles and identifying the important information, it has been summed up in one paper. It includes, growing up in different eras and how they compare and contrast. As well as, what it was like to learn in those era's, meaning mostly how has technology advanced our learning programs and teaching techniques. The reader will also find how it is to work with the different generations of people, more importantly their weaknesses and strengths. How work hours have shifted from 13–14 hour days and decreased all the way to 7–8 hour days. They do seem to balance each other out being the Gen Y, also known as Millennials or Digital Natives, are capable of multitasking throughout their shifts due to the technology available. Times are definitely changing and it is time to jump on board if you would like to sail smoothly. Difference in learning traits between Gen X on and Gen Y Generation X and Generation Y being not that different in age are made of very different complexities. Generation X born between the years of 1960 and 1980, and Generation Y otherwise known as the millennials were born between 1981 and 2001. It has been a challenge for teachers to adapt to new learning techniques, Generation X was raised in a higher work ethic environment, whereas, Gen Y grew up with technology and had endless amounts of information at the touch of a ... These common pests are easily contracted from other pets or the outside environment and can cause a range of ailments from hair loss, sores, and scabs to anemia, allergies, and other skin diseases. In the U.S., there are nearly 79.5 million households that own either a cat or dog; 30.4% being cats and another 36.5% owning dogs (AVMA.org, 2012). • 21. Superb Meteor Quotes Jack London once stated "I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet." Through this quote London is declaring that he would rather live a life full of excitement over a life that is predictable. I agree with this quote because you only get to experience things in your life once, so I believe it is best to live life as full as possible. The more fun and excitement you have with your life will hopefully help you grow as a person, and be ready to face new challenges. This relates to extreme sports athletes because almost everyone would rather live an exciting life over a dull and boring one. The main question usually associated with extreme sports is: why do the athletes do the sport ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This may be the case because people might feel unsafe when trying to be different and exciting, so they would rather play life on the safe side. In Extreme Sports Not About Risk–taking: Study, Dr. Brymer notes that people who participate in extreme sports try to be prepared so they can decrease their risk of injury. This shows that people don't want to do extreme sports because of the risk of injury involved with such a dangerous sport. Although this is a valid reason I still believe that people would rather be the more exciting version of themselves. Everyone always has something negative to say. Since they didn't make out they make you believe you can`t. Until this one thing comes around that motivates you and you feel like you can be whatever you want to be.Malcolm X found his motivation locked up in a jail cell, he had hope, and he never gave up. The Malcolm X section gives me a feeling of hope. The reason I get this feeling is because he was ambitious and wanted to improve his writing skills. • 29. Review: To Build A Fire By Jack London "The proper function of man is to live, not exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time." said Jack London, a man known for his writings like "To Build a Fire" which is about how precious life is and how you should listen to people when they say something is a bad idea, but he sees his life differently. Trying to take life easy isn't living, you're not making an impact, and for Jack London he wants to take every second to do something not just sit and slowly die. Although extreme sports have many risks and you can die if it goes wrong, there's also a chance that you can feel the most alive. Authentic Leadership for Age Diversity Authentic Leadership for Age Diversity In the article "Bridging the Gap Between Gen X and Gen Y: Lessons From Authentic Leadership," the authors highlight the issues of age diversity with a specific focus on issues between Generation X and Generation Y in the United States. They state that there are several attitudes, preferences, and characteristics that define each generation and create a fertile ground for organizational conflict. They argue that the solution for leaders with age diversity dilemmas can be found in the area of authentic leadership. The authentic leadership model consists of four key components which can help overcome some of the leadership challenges that result due to the differences in both generations. The article ... They are more proficient at multi–tasking, and their preferences for communication with their coworkers and peers are significantly different and more technology dependent. They also noted that Generation Y individuals are less loyal to their employers than previous generations. Generation Y has strong aspirations for career growth and success. They feel that they must switch positions in order to realize their career aspirations and goals. Their loyalty is contingent upon their ability to balance their work and their life's goals (Mhatre, 2011). In "Winning the Generation Game" they emphasize the importance of multitasking and the use of technology to Generation Y individuals. Generation Y's unwillingness to hang around if they do not get what they want is also mentioned in support of the view that Generation Y individuals are less loyal to their employers than previous generations (Winning the Generation Game, 2013). With the differences between the two generations it was surprising to see the suggestion that one leadership model could be the solution for both. Authentic leadership is described as a pattern of transparent and ethical leader behavior that encourages openness in sharing information needed to make decisions while accepting followers' outputs. Authentic leaders can foster a culture of transparency by modeling and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. The Importance Of The English Language Many Americans due to the fact that they have been in America they believe that the English language is easier to master than another language. Moreover, U.S college students believes that since they speak English frequently throughout the day they have mastered the English language. However, this may sound like common sense but it not true. Studies "from the U.S Department of Education shows that many high school seniors are graduating unable to read at grade level and one in four cannot read at even the most basic level" (abcnews.go.com). These studies completely refute the theory that mastering the skills of English is unnecessary. Malcolm X who "was one of the most articulate and powerful leaders of black America during the 1960s" even struggled with the English language (palomar.edu). In addition to that, he was born in America too. Evidence to the previous claim is in "Learning to Read," where Malcom X said it himself saying, "Trying to write simple English, I not only wasn't articulate, I wasn't even functional." Malcom X did not let that stop him. He performs some effective techniques in his pursuit of enhancement that college students emulate if they want to improve. Practicing, Reading, and learning new words are three effective techniques that college students should use to reach their mastery level of the English language. Many people may have heard the hackneyed quote that says, "Practice makes perfect." Well, Malcom X is a living testimony of that. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Guts, Glory, Greatness: Inspiring Stories The inspiring story turned motion picture depicts the story of a high school women's basketball coach that gets hired as the coach at Texas Western where Coach Don Haskins recruits seven African–American players based on their skill level not the pigment of their skin. Throughout the movie Glory Road Coach Don Haskins', men's basketball coach at Texas Western, tone changes from being a critic to a supporting coach with a team that was of mixed races. Coach Haskins shows character traits of a few great people from the civil rights era including Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Maya Angelou. Although Haskins is like some great contributors during the Civil Rights Movement time that doesn't mean that he is like all great persons because the Texas Western basketball coach is not like Malcolm X because he does not chose to use violence even when provoked unlike Malcolm X who has no problem with violence being used to achieve a common goal. Although many people may believe that Martin Luther King Jr.'s non–violent leadership style is not as effective as a violent leadership style, but King accomplished numerous things in relationship to the Civil Rights Movement. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted for there to be a day that it didn't matter the color of one's skin but what was on the inside. Here, he is saying that even though it does not seem they have many steps in the right direction, sooner or later they're going to set out with a new plan due to the inactive white man and perhaps changing their perspective of an upstander in the ... Eating, sleeping, playing everything you do has a risk to it, there isn't that much difference between extreme sports and your everyday life. Is extreme sports a healthy decision or a selfish one. I say that most extreme sports are healthy, however, a few extreme sports are selfish. However, life is always a risk, so the argument for enjoying life to the maximum doing extreme sports and keeping healthy has benefits that outweigh the fear of what might happen or the concern about selfishness. An extreme sport is when someone risks his or her life for the pleasure, or momentary thrill of just having fun, or getting paid for taking part in the a death defying sport. I believe that there are many extreme sports that are healthy challenging such as mountain climbing. On the other hand, I also believe that there are extreme sports like, Boxing, Bull Fighting, Sky Diving ; all three sports provide a thrilling experience for the person taking part in the sport. On the other hand the risk of life, or great injury is a constant reality. When a person is asked to put his life on the line for the pleasure of others, I believe that is very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Boxing has many risks to it like getting beaten up and suffering from the effects of physical and mental damage. Boxing takes a toll on the body. The boxer however, despite what negatives and downsides there are , remains in control of the sport because he or she can at anytime stop the game. Knowing the dangers involved anyways, the boxer continues to take part in the sport because of loving the sport. In this way, someone who does not like the sport can critique the player for being selfish. The boxer can argue with this by saying that when good training is part of the boxers' life, learning good defense helps minimize the dangers. So, in that way that in one extreme sport that is not selfish or at least the levels of selfishness are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Under Armour 's Vision Statement Essay Introduction Under Armour was created in 1996 by Kevin Plank, which first developed breathable, wicking materials to replace sweaty cotton found in the shirts worn under football pads. The brand was initially built on a tough–guy and a football image. Under Armour 's first major sale came, when an equipment manager from Georgia Tech requested 10 shirts from Plank. This deal opened the door to a contract with Arizona State University, North Carolina State and other Division I football teams. With positive reviews from players, word began to spread and orders began to increase (wikipedia.org). Under Armour has made a big name for its self since that time, and it has risen to the number 2 spot in the U.S. sportswear market (darden.virginia.edu). Extreme Sports Under Armour, has been true to its vision statement, to empower athletes everywhere, and also its mission statement, to make all athletes better through passion, design, and the relentless pursuit of innovation (uabiz.com). The Lost Generation In The Lost Generation Individuals of Generation X – those born between 1963 and 1981– have seen the world around them change in a variety of ways during their lifetime, from the fall of the Soviet Union to the dawn of the personal computer. Some of these advancements directly affected their lives, while others influenced their attitudes, opinions, and outlooks. Generation X should not be reflected as the lost generation, but the generation that introduced technology embraced innovation and observed tragedies that implanted fear across the entire nation. I remember sitting in my fifth–grade history class watching the live broadcast of the Challenger liftoff and the devastating explosion claiming the lives of seven astronauts. We had previously discussed the importance of the mission as teacher, Christa McAuliffe, earned her spot on the mission for NASA's program "Teachers in Space" (History.com, 2010). I sat there trying to process and understand what happened and we were not provided an explanation, it was more confusing than shocking, Looking back if this happened today, I suspect schools would have dismissed for the remainder of the day. At this time, it was an undeniably historical event for my generation. It was supposed to be a moment of joy but quickly turned into one of the most defining tragedies of this decade. This became the first national trauma for children, and America struggled with providing an appropriate explanation for all the children who witness the horrific event on ...
