Global Warming By Roberta Franchi
What is Global Warming? Global warming is the rise of the temperature on earth but humans are making it get hotter more quickly.
What causes Global Warming? Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases that are: Water vapour Carbon dioxide Methane Nitrous dioxide Ozone Chlorofluorocarbons These are natural gases but they can be formed by pollution like: Animal waste/methane Cutting down rainforests and forests Burning coal and petrol
Who/what does it affect? If earth gets hotter some changes mite happen like: Water expands so sea level rises Ices melt, some cities flood and some islands disappear Animals like polar bears get extinct No snow in the mountains Lakes and rivers dry up More droughts Some plants and animals get extinct from heat More hurricanes, tornadoes, storms and fires
How can we reduce the problem? There are simple things like: Recycle Re-use plastic bags and envelopes Have a compact heap Use paper on both sides Give things to charity Only fill the kettle with the water you need Don’t leave TV or computer on standby Use washing machine at 40 degrees Switch lights off when you don’t need them Use bicycle Have shower instead of bath Use local products
