2. Introducing Myself Hi, my name is Morgan Leapaldt. I am from Leeds, North Dakota. I am currently sophomore. (Just finished first year of college!) I am majoring in Graphic Design. One interesting fact about me is that I am deaf.
3. Current Status of Women in South Africa According to The Mercury, there are still following instances that occur today: Women are more exposed to unemployment than men. Illiteracy levels and the percentage of women’s education are impacting low. Maternal and infant mortality appears to be very high and is still increasing. Women are more affected by HIV and AIDS.
4. Continued. . . There has been increasing numbers of violence against women. South Africa has one of the highest levels of gender-based violence in the world. Cases of rape and domestic violence are increasing. Women remain under-represented in the formal economy.

6. Women in South Africa Research from Constitutional Court of South Africa: Women are still economically disadvantaged. They are most likely unemployed and tend to have lower-paid jobs such as domestic and farm labors. They often earn less than men for the same tasks.
7. More Information It is difficult in economical decision-making for women. It is difficult for women to gain information about their rights and entitlements without any education. Also it is difficult for them to control their fertility and maternal mortality rates.
8. Women are under social and even legal control of their fathers or husbands.
9. According to 69 Saint John’s Law Review 7, women perform approximately eighty percent of agricultural labor and only own thirty-three percent of household income. Divorces and separates rates are increasing because women can’t stand to the power of men.
10. Teenage pregnancy rates has increased, most were unwanted pregnancies. Negative situations are abortions, abandoned and street children, child neglect and abuse. Many girls and women are forced to have sex which is common known as “sex work.” Many of them get AIDS/HIV and get pregnant.
