 What is clay MADE of?

 Why does clay need to dry
COMPLETELY before going
into the kiln?

3.  #1: Greenware: Just made- the clay is still wet
 #2: Bisque: After the first firing (heat causes a chemical
reaction, changing the clay)
 #3: Glazed: A special paint that needs heat (fired in the
kiln) to become shiny.

Things to remember:
 Begin with the LIGHTEST color
first.
 Wash/dry your brush
 Cover the bisque clay
completely- EXCEPT the bottom
(Why do you think that is so?)
 Want it white? Use CLEAR glaze
(on back table station.)
 Paint at least 3 coats of each
color! (the more coats, the
shinier it will be)
 Take your time! 
