MARKETING
ASSIGNMENT on
POSITIONING
Submitted by: Shivani Gupta MBA (Ignou)
Ques 1
Choose one of the category or the product group in the marketing industry. Choose some brands in
that category and describe how each of them is positioned?
Develop a perceptual positioning map as well. Ans. Positioning is the act of designing the
company s offering and image to occupy a distinctive place in the minds of the target market. A
good brand positioning helps guide marketing strategy by clarifying the brand s essence, what
goals it helps the consumer achieve, and how it does so in a unique way. The result of positioning

Thums Up brand ( which separates the men from the boys)
Positioning:
Thums Up is positioned as a sparkling soft drink known for its strong, fizzy taste and its confident,
mature and uniquely masculine attitude. This brand clearly seeks to separate the men from the boys.
Ads Chronology Thums Up has stuck to its positioning of a drink consumed by a masculine person
since decades and has succeeded in delivering this image in the minds of the customers.
SPRITE ( a Coca Cola product)
Tagline: (University of freshology)
Brand Ambassador:
The brand had experimented with celebrities by roping in Sania Mirza as the brand ambassador
but now it does not deal with any prominent faces. They are hiring youngsters in their new ads in

Satire And Irony Analysis
Satire and irony are two writing techniques that authors sometimes use to amuse and/or make their
audience think harder. Although there is a difference between the two techniques, it is slim and
frequently hard to differentiate. Satire is often used to effect irony; these two terms have a
compatible relationship in that way. Personally I am more inclined to respond better to satire
because I was brought up in a family who rarely said things straightforward; satire, specifically
with the incorporation of sarcasm, is a form of family entertainment. Of course a healthy dose of
irony is also appreciated for its humordue to its ability to put the final touches on a point well
made. Overall, I enjoy reading satirical and irony filled pieces, as... Show more content on

Satirical writing pieces should serve a purpose other than just to make people laugh. In the Swift
piece, the author had a point other than making inappropriate jokes about baby cannibalism: he
wanted to bring attention to what was going on in Ireland. I don t even know why satirical pieces
are written if not to expose something that the author wants to bring attention to. Satire and irony
are writing techniques, they are meant to make the reader think harder and bring attention to the
topic at hand in a comical way almost like reverse psychology. It is supposed to be used to show
the absurdity of any other point of view than

Fascism And Nazism Similarities
Fascism and Nazism. Both once prominent forms of government during the 20th century, and now
the number of countries that use either one of these governments is diminishing. Fascism and
Nazism both emerged because of a general crisis of the European political system during the late
19th century to the end of World War 1. Fascism
was motivated by the fears of of social as well as
political disintegration, and of political revolution on the part of both ruling of the lower and
middle classes (Encylopedia.com Editors, 2017). Europe would later see many Nazi and Fascists
movements during the time period between World War 1 and World War 2; however, in only Italy
and Germany did these forms of government manage to come to power and develop into their
respective regimes (Encylopedia.com Editors, 2017). While these two once prominent governments
share some similarities, they also share many differences.
Fascism first exploded onto the political scene during the 1919 as the first mass movement of of
the middle class citizens in both Italy as well as Germany. In this political party, important sections
of the economic and political establishments sought out to attempt to preserve the status quo in the
revolutionary times (Encylopedia.com Editors, 2017). This form of government appealed to many
lower and middle class citizens because it made it seem that they were at control of the political
party. Fascism was popular to the public in general just because it brought out a

Comparing Catherine The Great And Frederick The Great
Catherine the Great and Frederick the Great were two great rulers from different places and
different time. They both had an impressive accomplished during their reign. A man and a woman,

Catherine the great, who was also known as Catherine II, was an empress of Russia who ruled from

Their location impacts many things about their culture as they are surviving based on their
environment. For food, this tribe relies heavily on hunting and edible plants that grow naturally in
the Amazon Rainforest in addition to their personal garden. Due to Chagnon reporting that the
Yanamomi are incredibly violent many believed that they were savage hunters. However, only
about 15 20% of their food is meat, the rest comes from their personal gardens which are mainly
cared for by the women in the tribe. As hunting is mostly done by the men and is not as stable of a
food source as agriculture, the Yanomamo are almost entirely egalitarian. While that might not

The ability to fight other tribes and endure pain is critical to ensuring they are not raided and
wiped out but other tribes. For this reason, club fighting takes up a very large portion of their
leisure time. Children engage in horseplay that can get fairly violent and can cause injuries. This
will prepare those children, both male, and female, for a life where they will endure painful
insect bites, possible food shortages, and intense fighting. Therefore, the play they engage in,
from childhood to adulthood will be centered around ensuring their ability to handle the physical
duress they will be placed under. This is critical to the survival of the tribe as a whole because if
the adults in the tribe could not handle physical duress, it is likely that they would be ill prepared
for the lifestyle of the Yanomami.
Play can be used as a training tool for the future as seen by the horseplay, or it can simply be used
as a method to unwind. The most common way for the Yanomami to unwind is through the use of
hallucinogenic drugs. This drug is called ebene and it is extracted from plants in the forest, ground
into powder and then mixed with saliva. The drugs are snorted in a ritualistic manner. The men
body paint themselves with red pigment and adorn themselves with feathers before gathering in

Interpreting The Kuleshov Effect In The Empty Hearse
Editing is the joining of different shots to create meaning, and can be one of the most significant
instruments of effect in film (Pudovkin). Russian film theorists Vsevolod Pudovkin and Lev
Kuleshov have coined specific methods of editing which can be employed in order to reveal a
deeper meaning (Sampson, Lecture 6.1). In the episode The Empty Hearse in the television show
Sherlock by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, the use of the Kuleshov effect, leitmotif, parallelism,
and simultaneity all work to emphasize the innate connection between best friends Sherlock
Holmes and John Watson, proving that they are the perfect pair. The use of the Kuleshov Effect in
this episode allows the audience to feel John s despair when thinking about Sherlock,... Show more

Simultaneity, also known as cross cutting, shows two events happening at the same time by
repeatedly cutting between each event (Sampson, Lecture 6.1). John becomes livid after finding
out that Sherlock had been lying to him this entire time, thus allowing him to grieve, and
decides he wants nothing to do with him anymore. Thus, they both try to go on with their lives,
as Sherlock searches for a new case, and John continues to see patients. However, this sequence
cross cuts between the two lives so that they explicitly connect to each other. When Mrs. Hudson
asks Sherlock about John, he replies, He made his position quite clear, which then cuts to a shot
of John s middle finger as he is putting on gloves. Then, it goes back to Sherlock and Mrs.
Hudson, and she asks, What did he say? to which Sherlock starts replying but gets cut off at F
which then cuts to John saying Cough? to one of his patients. Through the use of simultaneity in
this episode, it clearly shows that even if Sherlock and John try to have separate lives, they are still
connected because the two are meant to be

Volcano Research Paper
Volcanoes can be found throughout the entire world and are formed when there is a rupture in the
mantle of the Earth s crust. This effect allows the output of volcanic lava, ash, and various types of
gases. These tectonic plate breaks are normal, the planet Earth is divided into 17 tectonic plates and
consistently move against each other forming shifts from low to high intensity. It can cause
displacement of earthor water.
The volcanoes are located where there is a divergence or convergence in the tectonic plates and
bring their lava from the deepest of the terrestrial mantle. The materials and explosions of these
ginates represent a constant risk in the places inhabited by the human being, nevertheless the people

Factors Influencing California Teacher Credentialing
From the time California was admitted to the Union through today, the requirements for formal
educators have continuously evolved. Multiple factors have influenced these changes. The
economy, changes in immigrant communities, as well as scientific research on social emotional,
physical and cognitive development of students. Changes in teaching style trends have also been
influenced by the same factors. The success of the educationsystem in California continues to be

forward to learning about today s trends in teaching as well as predictions for the direction we are
headed for the future. With the help of research, I hope to find the specific factors the state use to
determine best practices. Do best practices differ according to the demographics the public school is
serving? How big of a role does each factor play in curriculum and teacher training? I also want to
focus on the current use of Professional Learning Communities and the requirement of
Professional Development. How have these newer practices changed the effectiveness of
teaching? In Early Childhood we have always had to fulfill Professional Development
requirements in order to maintain or upgrade Early Childhood Credential Permits. How new is
the requirement for Professional Development for multi subject teachers in maintaining their
credential? Through research for this paper in addition to tracking the changes in credentialing
requirements of educators, I hope to discover if California has been able to keep up with the ever
changing educational needs of our population; or if the state has had to play catch up at some
points in time. Are we alone in the challenges we face due to the diversity of our population or are

Explain Why Weathering Does Not Produce Significant Landforms
Earth surface is not flat but it consists of slopes. The slopes are either steep or gentle, long and
gradual or short and sudden. Slopes generally covered with soil and vegetation or they can be
covered by rock and rubble. In the evolution of landforms, weathering is followed by mass
wasting. Weathering does not produce significant landforms. Rather, landforms develop as the
products of weathering are removed from the places where they originate. Once weathering
weakens rock and breaks it apart, mass wasting transfers the debris downslope, where a stream,
acting as a conveyor belt, usually carries it away. Although there may be many intermediate stops
along the way, the sedimentis eventually transported to its ultimate destination: the sea.

Exports and Imports
Over the past ten years, Vietnam has seen a gradual change in the goods they import and export.
Historically, Vietnam s exports have mostly consisted of agricultural goods, along with textiles,
fishery products, and forest products. Imports have evolved from being mostly agricultural goods
like fertilizer, and farm machinery to electronics, oil, steel, and other industrial goods. Exports from
Vietnam have begun to move towards the industrial sector as well with increases in earnings on
crude oil, electronics, and other consumer goods according to the General Statistics Office of
Vietnam (GSO).
The rate of industrial machinery, accessories, and instruments has increased from about 16% of
imports in 2005 to about 28% of imports in 2012 (the most recent year data available). The same
type of equipment has also increased dramatically on the export side as well. 20% of exports from
Vietnam fell into this group in 2005, 2012 saw 34% of exports from this category.
According to the GSO, about 80% of Vietnam s trade is done with members of other Asian
countries. Vietnam is also the president of The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as
of 2010. Through this position, Vietnam has increased trade both regionally, and internationally.

Traffic in developing countries like India is highly heterogeneous in nature, which is characterized
by the presence of vehicles of different categories having varying physical and operational
characteristics over a wider range. Due to heterogeneity, it is difficult to define various traffic
parameters. Hence in such cases, traffic volume is expressed in terms of Passenger Car unit (PCU).
In the present study, various methods to determine PCU is studied also the variation in PCU values
has been determined at different geometric condition keeping the drivers charachterstic, vehicular
characterstic and other parameters constant with only variation was in geometrics of road. This was
achieved by studing the flow characterstic of same sample vehicleat different location. However at
intersection, the values may change as the parameters vary at intersection as compared to a mid

How Did Johannes Gutenberg Impact The Printing Press
In 1454, Johannes Gutenberg crafted numerous volumes of the Catholic Bible with his printing
press. These Latin Bibles sold at prices affordable to the middle class, when previously only the
wealthiest churches could afford them. Although it was not the first printingpress, Gutenberg s
printing press positively impacted Western Civilization for centuries, because it spread literacy and
Christianity, and allowed books to become commonplace and affordable.
Gutenberg built upon the success of others. China and Japan printed with engraved wooden blocks
as early as the eighth and ninth centuries, with movable type invented in the eleventh century. By
the fourteenth century, Europe used the same techniques. The Encyclopedia Britannica explains
his merging of ideas: Johannes Gutenberg is generally credited with... the invention of modern

population dies out, that hungry, infected fleas seek other sources of blood, increasing the risk to
humans and other animals. the incubation period of bubonic plague is 2 to 6 days after exposure.
Between disease outbreaks, the plague bacterium exists among certain burrowing rodent
populations without causing much illness. These animals act as long term reservoirs of infection.
What happens (biologically) to people who get the disease and why?
Once the bacterium, Yersiniapestis, enters the bloodstream, it travels to the liver, spleen, kidneys,
lungs, and brain. The incubation period is commonly 2 to 6 days after exposure. Early symptoms
include:
shivering
vomiting
headache
giddiness
intolerance to light
pain in the back and limbs
white coating on tongue
Eventually, pain occurs in the groin, armpit, and neck (all the areas that contain lymph nodes).
Later, there is painful swelling of the lymph nodes called quot;boboes quot;, hard lumps that begin
to appear on the inner thigh, neck, and armpit. Blood vessels then break, causing internal bleeding.
Soon, dried blood under the skin begins to turn black. Yersinia pestis, in autopsies, has been found
in the periodical sac, spleen, liver, lymph nodes, and bone marrow. If untreated, plague

The Resurrection Of Jesus A Historical Event
Just how vital is the resurrection to Christianity Well in a quote taken from Man Alive; by Michal
green he state, Christianity does not hold the resurrection to be one among many tenet of belief.
Without the faith in the resurrection there would be no Christianity at all. The Christian church
would never have begun; the Jews movement would have fizzled out like a damp squib with his
exaction. When Jesusrose from the grave, the impact was felt immediately and has continued to
reverberate throughout the world. This is certainly why many people have attacked the
resurrection and set out to disprove it and as Christians it is our job to defend this important part
of history that determines the future of so many people. So in order to defend the greatest day in
history one has to ask; is the resurrection of Jesus a historical event? Everyone agrees that Jesus
Christ was a moral man who lived on earth. Some state the resurrection of Jesus is a historical
event, while others say the resurrection of Jesus is not a historical event. Jesus death on the cross
is seen as a barbarous event, but to others, Jesus death on the unlocked the crippling chains of
humanity. The resurrection of Jesus is proven to be a historical event for these three reasons; the
vacant tomb, credible witnesses, and impactful culture. The first reason the resurrection of Jesus is
proven to be historical event is the symbol of the empty tomb. A quote by Anthony Flew, a devout
atheist states, The

Techie 12 Research Paper
If fishing is your thing, but you want a paddle board that is a little smaller than the Dragonfly 13
6 , then the Techie 12 is a good choice. While previous paddle boards from Dragonfly could be used
for fishing, the Techie has been specifically designed for the hard core angler. According to
Dragonfly, the purpose of the board is frill free fishing, but this doesn t mean that they skimped on
features.
What makes the Techie special is the fact that it is hand crafted using vinyl ester resin with bi
directional fabric. It also has a 30 inch beam and beaded foam core. Dragonfly included two
cubic square feet of forward dry storage in the twelve foot hull and a small circular well in the
aft. The forward storage is insulated and the aft well is compatible with an optional pump. Also on
this board you ll find three flush mounted rail systems and how you customize it with camera
mounts, rod holders and other accessories is up to you. Also of note is the unique water shedding
deck and ocean grip padding. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Islam, Islam And The Beliefs Of Islam
Religion is the belief of a God, or Gods, and there are many different types of religion. Each
religion has different systems of worship and believes in some different things. Even though every
religion is a little different, sometimes they have some things in common also. Islam is a religion
that believes in one, eternal God, named Allah. The word of Allah is spoken from the angel named
Gabriel, to Muhammad. Muhammad is the founder of the Islamic religion. He was born in Mecca,
Saudi Arabia, which is where the religion was founded, and he died in the year 632 A.D. Islamwas
founded in the beginning of the seventh century. Like stated earlier, Muslims believe in one
God. They also believe in the angels, who are respected creatures, they believe in God s revealed
books, including the Quran, they believe in the Prophets and Messengers of God, where
Muhammad was the last Prophet sent by God, they believe in the Day of Judgement, which is
when everybody will be resurrected based on their beliefs and achievements, and they believe in Al
Qadar, where God gives people free will.
Practicing and worshipping in this religion, has some rules, or standard guidelines, for everyday
lifes. These are called the Five Pillars of Faith. These include, Shahadah, Salah, Zakah, Sawm, and
Hajj. To start off with, Shahadah is the assertion of belief. It s when the people of the Islamic
religion indicate that there is only one God, and that Muhammad is his prophet. Next, Salah is the

The Causes Of Poverty And Underdevelopment
The causes of poverty and underdevelopment are found in both theories of Modernisation and
Dependency. Both of the theories discover and explain their views regarding the modern world,
existing relationships and differences between the Third World and developing countries. The
theories both have similarities and differences in their approaches to poverty and undeveloped
countries. Solutions are suggested by both theories, giving different strategies to improve the gaps
or connections between the developed and underdeveloped countries and societies.
Wehler (1975:11) explains the concept of Modernisation to be the developmentfrom traditional to
modern societies. Historically modernisation is the process of change towards those types of social,
economic, and political systems that have developed in Western Europeand North America
(Eisenstadt,1966, as cited in Chandra Sharma, 2015, p. 210). The modernisation theory sees
poverty and underdevelopment as a result of a traditional society system (Greig, et al., 2007). The
typical characteristics of a traditional society are its stagnancy, unchanging status quo , dominance
of spiritual values, unprogressive and not innovative nature, and its subsistence ways of living
(Isbister, 2001). This theory believes that the rich developed countries are wealthy because they
practice the accurate form of contemporary beliefs and values rather than following their traditional
society practices. The theory implies that if people continue

Mexican Fair Trade
Fair trade is a movement that strives for fair treatment for farmers and it s main goal is to reduce
poverty in the developing nations. Fair trade strives for social justice and Brewing Justice analyzes
indigenous coffee farmers in Oaxaca, Mexico to see if the fair trade is an important movement for
the farmers. We are brought into the households of workers to see the social movements, economic
and cultural survival, and environmental effects of fair trade. Author Daniel Jaffee spent months
deep in Mexico to see how Fair Tradeaffected the coffeecrops of societies and shares stories of his
experiences to help support his claim that Fair Trade is not a solution to the growing numbers of
families in poverty who grow coffee. Jaffee tells... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While this is a true statement, farmers within the fair trade movement suffer more a bigger
burden of cost rather than conventional farmers. Jaffee states that within Oaxaca is an
organization Michiza Cooperative where farmers achieve higher income, but growing organic
coffee leads to higher costs and more time spent on the acreage to develop healthy coffee beans.
Figure 16 shows us the most important crops in Oaxaca in 1991 with corn being number 1 and
coffee following in a close second (pg 67). Jaffee states that this is a remarkable statistic ...given
that coffee is grown in less that one quarter of the state. (pg 67). This shows that coffee is a very
important crop within Oaxaca that farmers rely heavily on for their income. The higher income
farmers receive from Michiza Cooperative is being used towards mozo s (hired workers),
children s education, etc. The strength of Jaffee s argument becomes more apparent when he
gathers a statistic where fair trade households are losing just as much money as conventional
families. He states that Only twelve of the fifty one families (he) surveyed..actually had a
positive net income in 2002 3 (pg 105). Having no income leads to borrowing more money.
Although when farmers belong to a fair trade organization, they don t need to borrow as much as
conventional farmers. About 29.2% of fair trade families have to borrow money each year, wheres
57.1% of conventional farmers borrow money each year (Table 15 pg

Adams humorously depicts each character with his or her own distinctive personality. For
instance, he depicts Marvin the robot as depressed when Marvin says, I only have to talk to
somebody and they begin to hate me. Even robots hate me. If you ignore me I expect I shall
probably go away (214). The way in which Adams jocularly illustrates Marvin s depressed
attitude makes it funny. This instance is additionally funny because no one would expect a robot
to have any emotions. Another way Adams s characterization reveals his humorous style in this
case is the fact that Marvin is so depressed he makes witty remarks that can make one laugh. This
characterization is also shown in Zaphod s attitude when he says, If there is anything more
important than my ego I want it found and shot now (98). Adams shows Zaphod as a carefree and
self centered person who can make some funny decisions. Zaphod also is a character that makes
jokes that can make the reader laugh. Arthur s confused personality is yet another example of
Adams s use of characterization. This is shown when Arthur says I don t know if this sounds like a
silly question, but what am I doing here? (54). Arthur s confused attitude can make him ask
laughably dumb questions. Also, Adams makes Arthur, shown as an ordinary human, go on an
adventure in a very extraordinary universe, which is entertaining for the audience. Douglas Adams s
humorous style is effectively revealed through his use of

REVIEW OF LITERATURE:
Sugar is a highly concentrated in sugar cane sugar beets. Sugar is mainly used to sweeten food
and to prevent micro organisms from growing and spoiling food. Salt is a mineral composed of
sodium chloride. Its a crystallized mineral from rock salt and halite. Salts main usage is for
cooking, cleaning, and many health uses. While doing this project we discovered that 99.95 % of
sugar is pure sucrose. Although salt is used for cooking it is also used for cleaning. The ocean has
35grams of salt per liter which equals salinity of 3.5% We started this project to see the crystal

of sugar and salt into the pots. When they are finally dissolved you add the salt water to one
container and the sugar water to its own container but make sure you don t fill it up all the way
leave 1in. Then you let it sit until it is warm. Next you stick a stick into the jars without the stick
touching the bottom. Mix it. Then you put the cover on with the stick through the cover then clip it
with the clothespin so the stick does not move. Then you put it on the side and let it sit where it
will not be hit. Check it daily until it is fully formed. Mark down observations.
RESULTS:
The end result of our project was that the salt formed a crystal before sugar did. On day seven the
crystal formation was 2 ВЅ inches for salt. For sugar it took ten days until it reached 2 ВЅ inches.
Although the crystals did not form on the stick because we messed up it formed around the
container therefore that is how we measured the growth.

High Rate Of Acute Rheumatic Heart Disease Essay
Health is a complex and developing concept moving away from a mere understanding of the
absence of illness and infirmity to a more holistic view. Therefore as society has changed rapidly
over the last century, there has also been a shift in the burden of disease universally. These
factors that are now playing the big roles in causation of disease have changed from biological to
social. It has become increasingly clear that the components that lead to poor health outcomes are
complex and multidirectional. To understand the reasons behind the high rate of acute rheumatic
heart disease in NZ the traditional biomedical model must be dismissed and instead evaluate how
instead the social models can give an understanding of why this is. The biomedical model (BM)
has a focus on having optimal physical health in individuals. This model has a central goal of
returning patients to health prior to their condition; therefore a focal point of the model is on
diagnosis and treatment (Engel, 1977). The BM looks for direct cause and effect relationships of
illness, known as the germ theory where every that states that all diseases (Morrison, 2012) are
caused by a pathogen. It assumes that there is a linear and not multidirectional relationship, not
acknowledging the full extent the components of many illnesses (Borrell Carrio, 2004). It looks at
health with a narrow perception of only the proximal causes, rather than the abstract notion that the
word health actually entails which is

Glass Ceiling Paper
In most situations, employers fill internal job vacancies secretly. Candidates or employees do not
even have the opportunity to apply for these positions and at times, would not know that these
promotional opportunities exist. Selection is made on bias, depending on the selector s gut feeling
about who he/she considers best. However, majority of employers do have a glass ceilingof which
women and minorities have a very limited chance to cross or advance. This paper will analyze a
case study on: Glass Ceeiling and answer some follow up questions such as: the advancement
barriers Lisa encountered, What the firm s leadership (including Michael Breyer) should have done
differently to retain Lisa, the type of organizational policies and opportunities that could have

genderconsciousness of Michael Breyer and Lisa s male colleagues.
Analysis: Glass Ceiling In corporate America today, most women and even minorities find it

Causes Of The Second Triumvirate
The Second Triumvirate existed from 43 B.C. to 33 B.C. The Second Triumvirate lasted for only
ten years. The Second Triumvirate years were filled with a variety of battles between the three
men. Rome will fall with the new Triumvirate because the people have been deceived and have
faced many troubles, the Triumviratehas tasted power and are greedy for more, and the three men in
the Triumvirate mistrust and dislike each other. The Triumvirate stealing from the public s fortune
shows their lack of morals and concern for Rome. Before the war against the conspirators started,
Mark Antonycommanded Lepidus to fetch the will (4.1.11) in order to see how they would cut
some charge in legacies (4.1.12). Some may say Antony took the money to help protect the
people of Rome. However, Mark Antony used the poor, naive, confused public to ensure he got
revenge on Brutus and the conspirators. Antony sparked the fire to start this war in order to get
revenge and will use the people s money to get revenge, not to protect. In addition, the
Triumvirate has no respect for human life. Their lack of sympathy towards the deaths of soldiers
and civilians showed their inconsideration for them. They simply said that they shall not live
(4.1.9) and that they are damn[ed] (4.1.9). Others may say that they didn t hold significant
consideration towards their death because it is normal for people to die in a war. Yet, the war was
initiated by Mark Antony and his thirst for revenge. He is the

Persuasive Essay On Snowing In Sports
Hockey is a game that should be fun and played with sticks and pucks not with scraped ice.
Snowing is an action where a player stops in front of the goalie either intestinally or by accident.
This creates snow, which ends up spraying the goalie in the face with the snow that was created.
The school made the correct decision that snowing in practice for fun is considered hazing.
Making snowing a habit in practice for the players, they would think its ok to do it in games.
Snowing is considered unsportsmanlike penalty if its done intentionally, in the discretion of the
referee. But snowing has no real physical abuse; it won t leave any significant damage to the kid
s eyes. Snowing in practice shouldn t be tolerated; it could make the kids think that snowing is
okay. When the kids believe its okay they would bad habits, eventually doing it on purpose in
games to distract the goalie. This isn t okay this action shows a sign of bad sportsmanship,
which is never okay in sports. These could lead to bad habits later in life when playing time or
roster spots is limited. When these kids still have these habits, these kids would either get limited
playing time or not be offered a spot even though they are skilled. The player would feel upset
that they didn t make it even though you are skilled. Coaches these days would rather take less
skilled players with a good personality and sportsmanship than players who are skilled without a
good personality. This is because having these players

Greek Culture Influence
Greek Culture and Influence
The Ancient Greek Empire was an empire of great power and success. From the beginning of
democracy to the amazing architecture of the Parthenon, the Greeks had many achievements that
marked their place in history, as their technologies were very advanced for their time. Even today,
Ancient Greek culture and technological advancements continue to influence our lives in aspects of
government, philosophy, architecture, geometry, mythology, and sports.
Although democracy can be traced back to Ancient China and Mesopotamia, the modern form that
we follow today originated in Athens, Greece ( Democracy ). Democracy comes from the Greek
word demokratia , which means people power. At the time, when Athens was ruled under a
tyrannical dictatorship, a learned man named Cleisthenes spread the idea of people sharing power

The Conflict Between Military Life And Civilian Life
For many decades now, many brave men and women have joined the military in order to serve the
country and protect the rights that are entitled to the American populace. However, when they
return back to the states, some soldiers are not able to the cope between the drastic differences
between military life and civilian life; as a result, they can be homeless veterans living on the
streets. The average citizens consider these veterans as just bums and consider them through the
mindset of out of sight, out of mind . Meanwhile, municipalities are acting no better as they enact
rules that discriminate against the homeless, including laws prohibiting public loitering,
panhandling, and squatting. It appears that the public and the government clearly do not do much
in terms of helping those that may need assistance, especially former soldiers that fought to protect
them. While there are several factors that can affect servicemen into becoming homeless, the
knowledge of the factors can be utilized appropriately by the citizens and officials to properly treat
these heroes and return them to housed, civilized lives instead of just shunning them. Back in 2007,
the National Law Center on Homelessnessand Poverty reported that roughly 3.5 million people are
likely to be homeless in a given year and the National Coalition for the Homeless in 2009 states
that between one fifth and one fourth of all homeless people are veterans. Besides the numbers
gathered by the above organizations,

Alton Sterling, Nolan Ryan, and Philando Castile; average people who are now household names
because of their murders by the hands of those meant to protect and serve . They are three among
many that were unarmed and killed by law enforcement. Each lived in different states, each lived

Police Officer. The First Amendment allots people to have the freedom of speech. The Second
Amendment allots people to bear arms. The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable
search and seizure. One would think with all the rights given, people should be allowed to express
their opinions, carry a registered gun, and not have to fathom the fact they may not survive after an
encounter with the law. Police brutality is on the rise because many officers use their power
unjustly, are not adequately trained, and are not held accountable for their actions. If a resolution is
not made soon, social unrest will reach a tipping point. Deeming further from the riots that have
already evolved among vexed citizens, or the mass ambushes that have transpired towards the men
/women in the blue by those enraged from an inclined legal system.
Police Officers are not adequately trained. There is no unified standard to becoming an Officer.
Each precinct develops their own set of requirements and trainings based on the location,
population, and need for their city. According to

Literary Criticism In Cardinal Richelieu
Alfredo Camacho
Dr. Fontes
CLAS 5
3 October 2017
Book Review Poetry is a form of art that serves the purpose to express the writer s opinions, and
also combat oppressive forces without the use of any physical force. These writers can relate to the
expression by the playwright and novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton in the play Cardinal Richelieu,
The pen is mightier than the sword (BBC); this expression serves as a metaphor in its own right
as the nature describes the effect of words to provide a stronger impact on the intended audience
than any kind of violence would. This term ties in perfectly with the ideas of Chicanx; the
Chicanx perspective of life is oppression and the dangers of racial tensions and manners to
dethrone those who impose that on others. They have long fought against the unfair forces that
have come against them, and have been involved in many violent forms of protest. With Cesar
Chavez becoming more invested in the peaceful form of protesting to gain trust and momentum
in the campaigns they were in, more and more writers began to express their feelings and place
their own two cents into the mixture of ideas. Often long stories are made in effort to express a
personal form of how life is changing and growing fears are turning into, however some writers
chose to use poetry as their version of a weapon against the oppressing forces. A poem is much
shorter and does not provide the sufficient build up that can be placed into a Chicano novel, but the
effect of

Deception In The Scarlet Letter
Reality is easy. Deception that s the hard the hard work Lauryn Hill. In the novel the Scarlet Letter,
Nathaniel Hawthorne uses literary elements such as symbolism, irony and conflict to show
deception and secrecy can lead to self destruction. This relates to the Scarlet Letter because in the
book the protagonist character commits an act of sin that was more than just frowned upon. Not
only does the community gossip and turn their cheek to the sinner but a sickness comes along from
keeping a secret from the community.
Throughout the book many symbols were shown, the main symbol being the Scarlet Letter forced
upon Hester Prynne for committing adultery. When the scarlet letter was forced onto Hester Prynne
the community thought she deserved more than just having to wear a cloth on her. Though she
tried to hide the gold embroidered A, the community began gossiping loudly and even said that she
deserved to be stoned. Hester Prynne kept her adultery a secret and in the end the sin back fired
and hurt her more than she expected it to. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 3. Satire And Irony Analysis Satire and irony are two writing techniques that authors sometimes use to amuse and/or make their audience think harder. Although there is a difference between the two techniques, it is slim and frequently hard to differentiate. Satire is often used to effect irony; these two terms have a compatible relationship in that way. Personally I am more inclined to respond better to satire because I was brought up in a family who rarely said things straightforward; satire, specifically with the incorporation of sarcasm, is a form of family entertainment. Of course a healthy dose of irony is also appreciated for its humordue to its ability to put the final touches on a point well made. Overall, I enjoy reading satirical and irony filled pieces, as... Satire and irony are writing techniques, they are meant to make the reader think harder and bring attention to the topic at hand in a comical way almost like reverse psychology. • 4. Fascism And Nazism Similarities Fascism and Nazism. Both once prominent forms of government during the 20th century, and now the number of countries that use either one of these governments is diminishing. Fascism and Nazism both emerged because of a general crisis of the European political system during the late 19th century to the end of World War 1. Fascism was motivated by the fears of of social as well as political disintegration, and of political revolution on the part of both ruling of the lower and middle classes (Encylopedia.com Editors, 2017). Europe would later see many Nazi and Fascists movements during the time period between World War 1 and World War 2; however, in only Italy and Germany did these forms of government manage to come to power and develop into their respective regimes (Encylopedia.com Editors, 2017). While these two once prominent governments share some similarities, they also share many differences. Fascism first exploded onto the political scene during the 1919 as the first mass movement of of the middle class citizens in both Italy as well as Germany. In this political party, important sections of the economic and political establishments sought out to attempt to preserve the status quo in the revolutionary times (Encylopedia.com Editors, 2017). This form of government appealed to many lower and middle class citizens because it made it seem that they were at control of the political party. However, only about 15 20% of their food is meat, the rest comes from their personal gardens which are mainly cared for by the women in the tribe. For this reason, club fighting takes up a very large portion of their leisure time. Children engage in horseplay that can get fairly violent and can cause injuries. This will prepare those children, both male, and female, for a life where they will endure painful insect bites, possible food shortages, and intense fighting. Therefore, the play they engage in, from childhood to adulthood will be centered around ensuring their ability to handle the physical duress they will be placed under. This is critical to the survival of the tribe as a whole because if the adults in the tribe could not handle physical duress, it is likely that they would be ill prepared for the lifestyle of the Yanomami. Play can be used as a training tool for the future as seen by the horseplay, or it can simply be used as a method to unwind. The most common way for the Yanomami to unwind is through the use of hallucinogenic drugs. This drug is called ebene and it is extracted from plants in the forest, ground into powder and then mixed with saliva. The drugs are snorted in a ritualistic manner. Both of the theories discover and explain their views regarding the modern world, existing relationships and differences between the Third World and developing countries. The theories both have similarities and differences in their approaches to poverty and undeveloped countries. Solutions are suggested by both theories, giving different strategies to improve the gaps or connections between the developed and underdeveloped countries and societies. For instance, he depicts Marvin the robot as depressed when Marvin says, I only have to talk to somebody and they begin to hate me. Even robots hate me. If you ignore me I expect I shall probably go away (214). The way in which Adams jocularly illustrates Marvin s depressed attitude makes it funny. This instance is additionally funny because no one would expect a robot to have any emotions. Another way Adams s characterization reveals his humorous style in this case is the fact that Marvin is so depressed he makes witty remarks that can make one laugh. This characterization is also shown in Zaphod s attitude when he says, If there is anything more important than my ego I want it found and shot now (98). Adams shows Zaphod as a carefree and self centered person who can make some funny decisions. Zaphod also is a character that makes jokes that can make the reader laugh. Arthur s confused personality is yet another example of Adams s use of characterization. This is shown when Arthur says I don t know if this sounds like a silly question, but what am I doing here? (54). Arthur s confused attitude can make him ask laughably dumb questions. Also, Adams makes Arthur, shown as an ordinary human, go on an adventure in a very extraordinary universe, which is entertaining for the audience. • 32. High Rate Of Acute Rheumatic Heart Disease Essay Health is a complex and developing concept moving away from a mere understanding of the absence of illness and infirmity to a more holistic view. Therefore as society has changed rapidly over the last century, there has also been a shift in the burden of disease universally. These factors that are now playing the big roles in causation of disease have changed from biological to social. It has become increasingly clear that the components that lead to poor health outcomes are complex and multidirectional. To understand the reasons behind the high rate of acute rheumatic heart disease in NZ the traditional biomedical model must be dismissed and instead evaluate how instead the social models can give an understanding of why this is. The biomedical model (BM) has a focus on having optimal physical health in individuals. This model has a central goal of returning patients to health prior to their condition; therefore a focal point of the model is on diagnosis and treatment (Engel, 1977). The BM looks for direct cause and effect relationships of illness, known as the germ theory where every that states that all diseases (Morrison, 2012) are caused by a pathogen. It assumes that there is a linear and not multidirectional relationship, not acknowledging the full extent the components of many illnesses (Borrell Carrio, 2004). It looks at health with a narrow perception of only the proximal causes, rather than the abstract notion that the word health actually entails which is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Triumvirate stealing from the public s fortune shows their lack of morals and concern for Rome. Before the war against the conspirators started, Mark Antonycommanded Lepidus to fetch the will (4.1.11) in order to see how they would cut some charge in legacies (4.1.12). Some may say Antony took the money to help protect the people of Rome. However, Mark Antony used the poor, naive, confused public to ensure he got revenge on Brutus and the conspirators. Antony sparked the fire to start this war in order to get revenge and will use the people s money to get revenge, not to protect. In addition, the Triumvirate has no respect for human life. Their lack of sympathy towards the deaths of soldiers and civilians showed their inconsideration for them. They simply said that they shall not live (4.1.9) and that they are damn[ed] (4.1.9). Snowing is considered unsportsmanlike penalty if its done intentionally, in the discretion of the referee. When these kids still have these habits, these kids would either get limited playing time or not be offered a spot even though they are skilled. The Conflict Between Military Life And Civilian Life For many decades now, many brave men and women have joined the military in order to serve the country and protect the rights that are entitled to the American populace. However, when they return back to the states, some soldiers are not able to the cope between the drastic differences between military life and civilian life; as a result, they can be homeless veterans living on the streets. The average citizens consider these veterans as just bums and consider them through the mindset of out of sight, out of mind . Meanwhile, municipalities are acting no better as they enact rules that discriminate against the homeless, including laws prohibiting public loitering, panhandling, and squatting. It appears that the public and the government clearly do not do much in terms of helping those that may need assistance, especially former soldiers that fought to protect them. While there are several factors that can affect servicemen into becoming homeless, the knowledge of the factors can be utilized appropriately by the citizens and officials to properly treat these heroes and return them to housed, civilized lives instead of just shunning them. Back in 2007, the National Law Center on Homelessnessand Poverty reported that roughly 3.5 million people are likely to be homeless in a given year and the National Coalition for the Homeless in 2009 states that between one fifth and one fourth of all homeless people are veterans. Literary Criticism In Cardinal Richelieu Alfredo Camacho Dr. Fontes CLAS 5 3 October 2017 Book Review Poetry is a form of art that serves the purpose to express the writer s opinions, and also combat oppressive forces without the use of any physical force. These writers can relate to the expression by the playwright and novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton in the play Cardinal Richelieu, The pen is mightier than the sword (BBC); this expression serves as a metaphor in its own right as the nature describes the effect of words to provide a stronger impact on the intended audience than any kind of violence would. This term ties in perfectly with the ideas of Chicanx; the Chicanx perspective of life is oppression and the dangers of racial tensions and manners to dethrone those who impose that on others. They have long fought against the unfair forces that have come against them, and have been involved in many violent forms of protest. With Cesar Chavez becoming more invested in the peaceful form of protesting to gain trust and momentum in the campaigns they were in, more and more writers began to express their feelings and place their own two cents into the mixture of ideas. Often long stories are made in effort to express a personal form of how life is changing and growing fears are turning into, however some writers chose to use poetry as their version of a weapon against the oppressing forces.
