This meta-analysis of 11 studies found that adolescent and adult survivors of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) have a small increased risk of being overweight or obese compared to the general population. Female survivors were found to have a greater risk (odds ratio of 1.32) than male survivors (odds ratio of 0.93). However, limitations in the available data prevented drawing definitive conclusions. Additional high-quality research is needed to better understand late effects on body composition in ALL survivors.
