This was an project-based assignment we did about recycling and planting. We thought of two ways we can help protect our planet earth. Most of it is covered from the video on YouTube. It is a compilation video about Earth Day and the importance of recycling, and other ways to protect our planet.
That was the sole purpose of the project, besides teaching the basic needs of a plant.
I used this resource below as an inspiration for ideas about the project by using the environment as a tool for project based learning.

pigment’s color is determined by the wavelengths of light that the pigment reflects. Plant leaves contain chlorophyll, a pigment that is vital to photosynthesis. In this investigation we will find out which colors of light are needed by chlorophyll to sustain photosynthesis

Diffusion And Egg

Germinating seeds at home

- 3. Steps to follow: 1. Wash the dried lentils and let them soak for 12 hours. If you leave them more time, lentils will be bigger. No problem.
- 4. 2. After that time, remove the water, wash the seeds again with filtered water and put them in a fine strainer on a plate. Cover them with a cotton cloth or towel. Leave them at room temperature.
- 5. 3. After 4 hours soak the lentils in the strainer, let them drain and put them back on the plate, covered with the cotton cloth.
- 6. 4. You must repeat this operation for at least 3 days. Wetting the lentils every 4 hours during the day and just before going to sleep, soak them again and remain the same.
- 7. 5. After 2 nights and 3 days, you will see the sprouts or buds quite grown. Then, you are able to consume them but the ideal is to continue a couple more days.
- 8. 6. After 10 -12 days, you will see the sprouts or buds quite grown and you can see many parts of a plant. One of them is the stem. How long is it? Can you mesure it? Can you name more parts?
