We track vehicles using the 50 channel u-Blox 5 GPS engine with SuperSense®
Indoor GPS. Add this to our patented X-Act™ Intelligent Logging Processor and you
have access to Geotab’s legendary Trips & Activity detail. Using superior positional
accuracy, distance reporting and trip profiling we stand head and shoulders above
traditional systems.
Complex, built-in algorithms monitor GPS speed, orientation and time on a second-
by-second basis and ensure that positioning relates to actual driving conditions.
No interface with the vehicle odometer or other components is required. Customers
are assured of accurate, comprehensive and clutter-free trip profiling and driver

Driver risk management reports and tools are available within Checkmate™, our
proprietary software suite. The reports illustrate a complete view of a driver’s
profile, and drivers are assigned a score based on their driving habits. This caters
for a fully automated process that identifies risky drivers; the reports include top
speeds, harsh acceleration, harsh braking, sharp turns and more.

5. DANGEROUS LANE CHANGES AND BRAKING
State-of-the-art built in accelerometers in our devices ensures exact g-force
monitoring that allows for the monitoring of Driver Behaviour, with a twist – a built
in buzzer alerts the driver to infractions, allowing for the drivers to actively adjust
their driving habits as they drive!
Identifying aggressive on-road behaviour which is often evident in dangerous,
sharp lane changes and harsh braking, will help you profile hazardous driving
habits, allowing for training and coaching that will minimize the risk of collisions and
accidents before they occur. Putting a stop to poor driving behaviour will help you
achieve safety with your drivers, and other vehicles on the road.
ACCIDENT RECORDING AND INSTANT NOTIFICATIONS
If an accident occurs, be one of the first to know and take timely action steps.
With Geotab’s unique algorithm, you will receive a detailed view of the last 100
minutes, broken down into second-by-second detail of the event. This will help you
understand what lead up to the accident, and allow for accident reconstruction.
Additionally, if a vehicle is hit while parked, it would prove no-fault on the driver.
If a collision should occur the Geotab™ device installed in the vehicle will automatically
download accident data, in second-by-second resolution, allowing for a full and
comprehensive investigation to be carried out by the relevant personnel in your

BUREAU SERVICE
Geotab™ offers a fully supported bureau service to assist clients in managing their

Custom-tailored reports are e-mailed daily, weekly or monthly, guaranteeing
constant accurate and uncorrupted management data.

GO4™
Is our most sophisticated fleet management system, and is recognized internationally
as such. GO4™ takes vehicle telematics to a new level as the device caters for
full and detailed Trip & Activity analysis as well as Driver Behaviour and Engine
management.
GO4™ caters for Driver identification using a simple Driver ID Key with up to eight
auxiliary device input ports as standard. Various integrations have been accredited
such as Garmin®, Iridium GPS Data modem and Mobile Witness™ for added
functionality.
GO5™
A sophisticated plug-and-play telematics device that caters for exact trip and driver

MOBILE WITNESS™
The introduction of Mobile Witness™ has brought in-cab cameras within the reach
of fleet managers, at an affordable price. Two devices are available, catering for
™
single [road ahead] and dual view [in-cab and the road ahead] images to be
recorded.
As soon as a pre-set parameter is broken Mobile Witness™ creates an Exception
in Checkmate™ allowing the end user to quickly view the data around which the
event occurred, rather than spend hours viewing video files, looking for incidents.
Both devices have an emergency button that allows the Driver to ‘record’ an event for
subsequent viewing, such as their arrival or departure from premises. All events are
both time and position stamped within Checkmate™ allowing for exact positioning
of an event.
IRIDIUM GPS DATA MODEM [CROSS-BORDER DATA TRANSFER]
The introduction of the Iridium GPS Data modem with GO4™ has enabled Geotab™
to offer a cost-effective alternative to costly data roaming, when vehicles leave
their country of origin. The Iridium unit is connected to a standard GO4™ platform
™ and automatically assumes the data transfer [using the GPS satellites as the data
carrier] when the GSM modem disconnects from the network in the country of
origin.
Added functionality allows for the vehicle to be positioned in a number of ways.
Polling as and when required by the end-user, automatic time-based positioning
[for example 4 positions per hour] or a combination of the above. A further
enhancement is the ability to enable a distress call via the Iridium unit allowing
for communication alerts should the driver encounter difficulty when cross-border.
GO4™ automatically records the trip movement of the vehicle to its on-board
memory whilst roaming. Upon re-entry into the country of origin the GSM modem
automatically reconnects to the local network and ‘dumps’ the entire cross-border
trip onto the customers database.
